Will he ever play or are we looking at another Marin situation?

MORE REAL SOCIEDAD

NEWSFLASH

Asier Illarramendi is supposedly in agreement with going to Real Madrid. The clause will be respected, but there will be a special payment program, not unlike that which Real Madrid employed with Sevilla, when they bought Sergio Ramos.

This is GREAT news!

Let´s see if all pans out. Illarramendi has said he wants a resolution before the 11th of July.

Isco personally recommended Illarramendi´s signing during his lunch with Florentino Pérez (after yesterday´s presentation).

He recommended Asier at least twice during the lunch, and it is quite evident this kid (Isco) is confident and not afraid to voice his opinion.

I find this hilariously admirable. Isco´s got brass balls.

I am pretty sure he will play. Probably won't be starting in the B2B/pivot role (depending on formation) in EPL play right away but I think by the end of the season he could be getting some starts.

If we do use a 4-3-3 mostly, then we would have a lot of depth at the DM role (Mikel, Essien, Romeu, maybe Ake or Chalobah) and the AM role (Oscar, de Bruyne, Mata/Hazard can but I think they will both play in the front 3) but in the 3rd midfield spot we will only really have Van Ginkel, Ramires, and Lampard, assuming Van Ginkel doesn't go on loan, so I think he for sure can play a lot this season. Obviously this is assuming we don't buy another midfielder and send MvG on loan though, which I don't think we will do.

They also basically told CE he can take his talents elsewhere.

Not sure really, apparently they just aren't convinced he's worth the hype. Dutch league players have traditionally done miserable in the Bundesliga, so maybe they just don't want to go down that route, same concept as Bayern pulling all of their scouts from South America a year or two ago.

Not that there aren't good players, but the few times they bought directly from SA it hasn't turned out the best. Namely the prodigy Breno who burnt his house down and is currently in German jail lol

yeah I think I remember reading earlier this summer that they weren't convinced CE could handle the speed of the Bundesliga.

I think he would be a fun player to watch, but I'm not going to be mad if they don't buy him. He did well in UCL play, but I definitely understand where they are coming from.

And Breno was the reason Bayern dumped Hummels, so yeah you can understand why they are a little bitter about that one.

Pretty bummed about HM. Apparently trying to deal with the club and his third party owner(s) was fricking nuts. Good player, can't wait to see him at BvB. His wages are fricking low right now, so that was pretty much the only thing in our favor.

I would assume the CE rumors will start picking back up now. His fee will be damned low for a player of his talents.
