Anyone familiar with Sandanter consumer? Looking for a credit union
Posted by King of New Orleans on 4/3/13 at 9:43 pm00
I'm currently using sandanter consumer for a loan on a car and they are the absolute shittiest company I've ever dealt with.
I want to go refinance at a local credit union here in Baton Rouge.
What's everyone's opinion on the best credit union?

Is this an offshoot of the Santander, the Spanish bank?

Santander is an absolutely enormous Spanish bank, one of the biggest in Europe and one of the world's big players.
But they may be having trouble implementing expansion projects in the US, I have no idea. If they are serious about the investment they'll get it right eventually.
Interesting that Santander is exploring in the area though.

Santander is a subprime lender. I would definitely suggest going to a local credit union to refinance. Try E Federal or Neighbors. Both have excellent auto rates.

What is a subprime lender? Never heard of that.

Check with Neighbor's Federal Credit Union. We got a low rate there when we bought our used BMW.

Are you with them because of bad credit? That's what kind of company they actually look like.

Yep. They bought up consumer loans in my industry as well. Horrible customer service the few times I've had to work with them.
