I just bought a house that has no shed to store my boat. Until I can afford to have one built (which will be a while), I was planning to simply put a cover over it. Any one have any cover recommendations that can be quickly put on the boat and that will last? Boat is a 18' express bass boat
Or any other ideas to cover it so I don't have to mess with a cover holding rain water

Try BoatCovers.com

you can probably use one of their semi-custom patterns and save a little bit of money. I have Sharkskin for my cover, its waterproof / breathable, but a little heavy. The cover on my jetski is sunbrella and is better.

Your goignto have to use the tent poles to prop up the center so it doesnt pool water when it rains.

Like every one else in my state, I just use blue tarp. Took some PVC pipe and made a peak, and put the tarp over the top. This state wouldn't exist without blue tarp and duct tape.

my dad made some for his boat that fit in the seat post holes and ran down the center of the boat over the CC. I may have to make some of my own.
Ill look into those cover brands. I rather pay the high price once than having to constantly replace the cheap ones.
What im really after is a good tie down system that simple and will last

that is my dad's setup and i HATE having to deal with the tarp not designed to fit the boat so its all over the place and having to bungy cord that thing down, so i want one made for a boat with a tie down system
The PVC may be a good idea for a ridge

I just bought one that fit. I've got pix on my home computer and it worked great all winter. Has the reinforced eyes. Took less time to put up than many cabin tents.

Anyone use those corrigated metal covers? they have a metal roof and some have sides and you anchor them in the yard or to the concrete. They seem to be fairly inexpensive solution for a few years

Walmart/Academy has a decent boat cover for under $75.

They have a design for a CC 18' that does a good job. If you position it right, you don't have to worry about water pooling up on one particular spot.

I would suggest this. My BIL used one to cover his shearwater for a couple years and it was much easier than dealing with a boat cover

Even with the metal carport sheds, I'd still want a boat cover. Those sheds still let in light and dirt/dust. The UV from sunlight does the most damage to a boats interior. (and exterior for that matter)

Well my pic wont work but yes, even under the cover I still keep a canvas cover on it. I left it off for a couple days last week and everything was yellow from the pollen

I'm actually in need of a new one. I had an Endura cover that was 4 years old and was out in any and all weather, no other cover. Came with a built in motor cover and sewn on straps. Was around 200$ for a 17'.

Here's mine. Just a tarp about the right size, some PVC and it works as good as anything.

I would recommend the Carver 8 oz performance poly guard. I have own one for years now and it still hold up really well. Try coverquest.com they carries Carver boat covers.
