Schiro's Cafe. I know the owner. Really nice guy. I have been meaning to go get food from there. Sadly my lunch hour isn't long enough and I always forget for dinner.

ETA: Boucherie is back w/ the Roast Beef and horseradish sauce! Been craving that since Poboy Fest 2011!

Not trying to hijack, but Nathan Zimet is doing all the cooking in the VIP this weekend at Tbois. I'll be the guy drinking a strawberry homebrew with a crawfish beignets in my hand.

Getting to be like MG and JF. It helps to be/know locals who have game plans and hook ups. Also I like the smaller song writer stages at FQ fest over the main stages.

I like the Jackson Square area.. The music not as much at the big stages.. The acoustics aren't great and the crowds (because it's free) are a little sketchy.. The small music groups though, that you stumble across on Royal St and around the Quarter are usually really interesting.. Classical music, blue grass.. good times.

Will hunt down Schiro's Cafe

Yeah but when you break it down its a deal IMO. Two days of music, beer, and food. And we aren't talking crap beer and food. I spent $120 at Hogs this year. $150 for an entire weekend is a cheap weekend for me. I would spend more than that just eating and drinking in my neighborhood over the weekend.

I got one of these last year b/c I was tired of having to go get drinks. It was a nalgeneesque bottle w/ a neck strap. I ended up adding ice to it b/c it got hot though.

T'Bois is a good deal, plus the music is damn good. Only problem is if its rainy, the site could get a little dicey.
FQ Fest is a victim of its own success. Its gotten ridiculously crowded - and I live close enough to walk. The new park areas along the riverfront were supposed to be open in time for it this year (in the hopes of spreading the crowd), but they are behind schedule. In addition to the Jackson Square stage, also try the two stages at the US Mint. These areas tend to be less crowded (and the Mint stages have hosted some good acts in the past).

I like getting coffee at Envie on Decatur and hanging out in this area, Decatur and the French Market.
