If for some reason my house/vehicle is ever searched and this weapon is found, could I get into any kind of trouble? I mean, the gun is a complete pos, but i'd still like to keep it. Just hope it wasn't a murder weapon or something.
bring it inside your house if you're worried

Yea I can't find the thread with a search. It was a while ago I remember someone posting that they found a single six that was on the side of the road and they were trying to see if anyone lost one.

Im being very serious about this.
If you have a cop friend, have them run the number on it, or else you could get into a LOT of trouble if it was used in a murder or something.

Found a Gun
1. Thoroughly wipe all surfaces of the gun that might have your fingerprints.
2. Throw gun in deepest hole of water you can find.
What should have been done was called the cops when the gun was found so they could have taken fingerprints off it if they suspected it had been used in a crime.

A neighbor found one in his hedges, was going to walk into the 2nd District station with it. I told him to call them and let them come get it, they did.
