I've got a craving for some and want some thoughts on the best of BR. Opinions?

I find many of the sit down places dry it out.. But if you go to a place with high turnover on the stuff like gyro and shwarma its less likely to be dried out. They pretty much all taste the same as they are prob all buying from same vendor. I find Arzi's in the mall to be most reliable for non-dry chicken shwarma which is suprising.

Atcha is good and cheap too. Convenient if you are on campus or downtown.
I'm partial to Albasha's.

Wish I had the time to run over to campus. Probably go with Albasha. Just trying to see what the average FDB regular had to say.

My wife loved the chicken shwarma salad from Romans when we lived on Essen. I always got the lamb kabob every time.

I'm sure they're chicken shwarma is good like everything else.

Went to the one in Metairie, but I like the flavor of the chick Shwa at Byblos in the mall better.

Atcha Bakery was my personal favorite, but I haven't eaten there in over 3 or 4 years.

Nope, the chicken at Byblos has better flavor. Everything else was better at albasha.

Albasha's is the best. Those saying serops express is better are just delusional

Atcha is good, convenient, and cheap, but I find their chicken a little dry. I haven't found a place in BR whose schwarma can compare to Babaganoush in Covington.

I don't know which is best, no one actually does, but the shawarma at Albasha is excellent.

The worst I've ever had was at Serop's Express on Highland and I-10. At dinner it think it had been sitting in the steam tray since lunch, inedible.

Actually the worst everything middle-eastern was from a Lebanese place in Birmingham, and they were packed with Gumps lapping it down. I've tasted canned hummus before and that was some nasty shite.

their Lamb Shank is the best, chicken too much garlic.

Serops for taste and price is unbeatable...IMO plus added bonus, they make mustard greens and okra better than my mother.

I've found Serop's to be very hit or miss and each restaurant has a different taste from the others. So the uniformity is kind of lacking IMO. Still, if you mess up Shwarma of any kind you won't be open very long.
