Would you rather have 2 Lotto picks in 2014 instead?

Just saying hypothetically...

If you were offered a chance to trade this years first to a presumed "bad team" and get their 2014 1st round pick (not lotto protected)

Would you take it?

I think I would...
Yea you'd miss out on a Shabazz, Alex Len, Zeller, etc. in this draft..

But you could possibly get 2 of "Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Julius Randle, Harrison Twins, Willie Caulie Stein, the Kid who will be at Indiana, Aaron Gordon, etc. etc."

Imagine getting WCS AND Andrew Wiggins or Wiggins AND Jabari Parker.

Just a thought. I know the draft is a crap shoot...but 2014 is such a strong class (which is why it might be even difficult to do so)...but then again maybe a team really wants two guys in the 2013 draft..

I bet OKC is happy about that top 5 Toronto pick from Houston earlier this year.

This is why I'd like to trade to pick for an established starter in the league.

It's only weak if you're looking for a superstar. This draft is very deep otherwise.

NBDDRAFT.NET has them taking Shabazz. Which is kind of crazy to think about.

No.. I don't want a bad team next year. I'd rather be around .500 and have a mid round selection. This team is really not that far away and they have the space/ammo to make alot of moves this summer. Its really an exciting time for the franchise. They have 20+ million in cap space, a lottery pick, good trade bait (Gordon, Vasquez or Anderson) and the franchise guy to build around.. Just have to make it happen..

Hornets won't have a lottery pick next season so two would be unlikely

I'm assuming you added that part in your edit. I didn't see it when I first read your response this morning.

Even if this year's class was better, you would have to like your chances better next year. There may be 5 all-stars in next year's draft class.

Without a doubt. If high schoolers could still go pro, Wiggins would be #1 and Parker would be top #3 this year. They are the biggest stars in both drafts. This years draft has a lot of role players and 2nd-3rd option type guys. Wiggins and Parker and game changers from day 1.

you talking about last season? I never was one of the douchebag tankers actively rooting against the team I just stated my opinion that getting a high pick in a short season with our "best" player injured and a roster full of those who wouldn't be part of our future would be more beneficial than finishing middle of the pack. anyway I though we've bonded since then and moved past that
