Fished Sat Morning, took about a 30 minute ride to 55' of water (at about the 4 mile line), caught fish non-stop on anything you dropped, had an 11 man limit of 33 by 9AM (about 1-1/2 hours of fishing), was ship shape and fish cleaned by 11 AM, never saw any type of enforcement and hardly another boat fishing.

Started small, increased as we fished (which is normal), had a few in the 15+ range. Prolly a 5-1 throwback ratio........but fun.

Man I really don't wanna say because I don't want the Marina swarming with Fed's next time I go. We did hear that the Coast Guard was issuing "Warnings" if you are fishing beyond 3 miles.....

Pretty sure it really doesn't matter where you are fishing out of.......

Because you are breaking federal laws and those are still legally federal waters.

I'm not asking for marina, man. Just a general area, ie rig block, pass, etc.

It does, though. 2 miles from Southwest Pass is a lot different from 2 miles from Belle Pass.

Pretty much. The state has created a legal grey area.

Feds haven't recognized our claim yet. So there is a grey area. Spoke with a Coastie Friday morning and he told me they are covering 4-5 miles out of Cocodrie, GI and Venice.

Highly doubtful this year. I totally expect this thing to drag on for several years as both sides seem to have dug their heels in. So, we'll be stuck waiting for it to trickle through the federal courts.
