Before I click the link, are there any pics/gifs/vids of the injury in the link? I haven't seen it and based on what I've heard I damn sure don't want to either.

I agree with everything Mr. Travis said

People overreacted on Twitter far too quickly. It was a horrific injury but everyone acted like he had just gotten paralyzed and was in a coma

That being said, I hope he has a speedy recovery

I finally just saw it. Was on YouTube, so a bit blurry, but not unstomachable. Still turrible nonetheless.

i saw like 6 girls post fb statuses about the injury and how they were praying for him and shite and they are people that do not give a frick about sports, let alone a player coming off louisville's bench. for some reason, that annoys me.

I personally like the Duke bench reaction.

They all jumped back like they witnessed Jordan dunk from half court... before running away.

It annoys you that someone would pray for a guy who just broke his leg and may have ended any chance he had to play basketball competitively? You can turn off your college basketball hipster persona every once in a while.

The Duke players reaction summed it up perfectly. Just a crazy thing

it's inexplicable but it (not people caring, but people making it obvious that they "care" on fb) does annoy me and i dont think it's a "hipster" type thing, but it might be. i think it's more sexist, honestly.

You know that this weekend the debate will be "this stupid NBA rule kept him from cashing in right out of high school" or "this is why college athletes should be paid."

Forget that this guy wouldn't have been drafted out of high school and the few thousand the NCAA might have paid him would never sustain his post-injury life.

Wow, that was a well thought out article talking about censorship and the like.

I enjoyed that read, and would read again.

Maybe so. I get annoyed when women try to talk shite to me about sports when they're clueless. I think this is just a matter of people feeling bad for a guy who probably could use some well wishes right about now.

Honestly I think it was made such a big deal because of the reaction of players/coaches. Rarely do you see such a gruesome in a non-contact ish sport like basketball (compared to football or hockey)

When Lattimore's injury occurred and his leg was at a complete 90 degree angle in the wrong direction, teammates didn't crumble to their feet and act like they were dying. Everyone got to a knee like usual as he laid there.

The fact that Louisville's players showed so much emotion and both coaches cried, viewers at home connected even more. Once the connection was established, anything negative (GIF, replay of video, etc.) was completely shot down

Or the fact that his broken bone was sticking out of his skin.
