Would You Be For Making Everything Cheaper if it Meant Getting Paid Less?

I saw that one politician wants to raise the minimum wage to $20/hour while failing to realize that in doing so, businesses will raise prices in order to make a profit. This is turn will cause inflation. Why can't we deflate the prices by making everything more affordable while getting paid less? For example, instead of $4 gas, it will be $1 but if you make $10/hour now, you will make $3/hour. People once went to the movies for a dime while making $70/week. Today we look at that as crazy but it worked just fine.

Well, this site is full of Pauli K and Benny B acolytes who will regurgitate bull shite like "a little inflation is good for the economy."

I sort of wish it were that way if everyone would drop their prices. $20.00/hr...

Elizabeth"Fauxcahontas" Warren and it's 22.00/hour she wants. One must give the Democrat voters of Taxacheusetts credit. For forty years they voted a murderous SOB into the US Senate. In the election to permanently replace him they voted for a lying bitch who earned all of her "employment" by gaming the system by her claim of Indian status. They be some smart people up there.

So making our fiat currency more scarce? Isn't that what it amounts to? Not going to happen, politicians and central bankers love a healthy dose of inflation - it's good for growth you know..

Yes.

Maybe we wouldn't have such a desire to subsidize people's lifestyles if this were to the case.

You must not have read the thread where the WH is trying to kill the dollar. It may not matter should they succeed.

Not only that but businesses would look to reduce staff and hours anyway they could.

What you're talking about is price fixing and that shite is a disaster.

Because we have a fricking $17T debt that we have to devalue instead.

Not for blue-collar, working-class folks on fixed incomes. It's the cruelest tax there is.

OTOH, it's great for some of us.

I guess the fixed incomes part of that is the key phrase. Yeah, that would be tough for them.

Inflation is great for lenders and an economy based on debt. Not so good for debtors.

taking or putting money into a system disrupts the natural flow of the system I guess you could say, taking money out will probably kill the system in the short run, putting money into the system will causes bubbles or cause growth on an unstable ground.

its this crap kaynes idea when the economy is doing super well take money out slow the growth, when the economy is doing horrible pump money in to spur growth. What it does I think is prevent true stable growth, its like a buisness starts to bring in steady income is doing good practices, and then purposely does things to slow growth. Also when a business is in bad times, they take out large loans and continue their practices that got them into trouble.

If we weren't in debt would it be a viable option?
