I'm very concerned about our defense next year. There is no sunshine left to pump - it declared early.

I have faith Chief can field a respectable defense, the problem is Les forced us to rely solely on our defense to win games, when you can't do that and you put a noose around the offense, you're fukked.

It remains to be seen how Les handles the noose that has choked LSU football for 8 years

You have a right to be concerned. I mean 8 years of losing seasons, no bowl wins, no championships. That is strangled football all right.

Here's hoping this will change with the CC era beginning.

Here's hoping the NegaTigers are wrong and we win it all in 2013!

It really happened after TAMU if you look at the stats (pass d is what got worse, rush d was pretty constant). Teams saw on film what they could do in the air against LSU, and exploited that.

I dont think there's a simple answer such as #99 taking plays off. In some cases pre-Bama the game situation was two-scores, e.g., USCe and TAM. In others, it was matchups (OM) and great execution. In more than a few it seemed several players didnt have their best seasons. As others have mentioned our O didnt help out that much in TOP. Put it all together and we were no longer great on D.

For '13, the talent's there - just need to get the chemistry right.

Like Sonic Sam said, they took the rest of the season off. No SEC/ NC, no care.

I for one am glad that last group of players are gone from the Jefferswag era.

Respectfully if you can't easily see why we would decline you're just not really seeing the obvious. Goals were shot once we lost to bama.

They were all goofing around during the Clemson game so you're probably right.

Bama loss hurt. We were young in the secondary with our two veterans not having first round seasons like the guys before them.

We lost deoth on o and d. With Allen and kwon pushing fir a atarters role thus spring, we really could have ysed those guys. Also lost welter and jones, both running with the ones this spring.

Dont forget sam saying he didnt go all out all season.

Also our offense, even though that shouldnt be an excuse against bama and ole miss.

The offense was embarrassingly bad against Florida and Clemson, and the rest of the defensive struggles can be chalked up to the Bama letdown and the loss of TM7 and Brandon Taylor.

The loss of Chris Faulk greatly affected the O, which put too much on the D.

Bama has ruined our season 2 years in a row and several times in the past, that's why they don't give full effort in the remaining games.
