There's more to baseball that just at the plate? (Except for in Ross's situation where his skills behind the plate are keeping in the lineup)

Strictly speaking, anyone hitting below .200 is not worth their weight in defensive ability. From a talent standpoint, both players are capable of higher quality play, and are being allowed to work their way out of perceived slumps. At some point, lack of improvement may catch up with Jones. I expect Ross is too important at catcher to be pulled from the lineup no matter what his average is.

Jones has made some really great plays at 2nd all year, cant bench him..... How much is this going to be discussed?! If we were losing games and it was affecting our play then yes. But it aint broke for frick sake

Yeah, dead spots in the lineup will kill against better teams. That one deficiency of this team is getting masked by lower-end SEC competition. This team is Omaha bound no doubt, but those two need to pick it up.

This whole Jones makes great plays at second excuse is getting ridiculous. He's not winning any games for LSU with his glove.

Hard to argue with 24-2. Still, LSU playing 6 innings while everyone else plays 9 is going to hurt later.

Jones has an OBP of .354. to go along with 9 steals.

Ross handles the pitching staff

Pretty simple if you ask me?

you mean there is no one else on this team that can play 2nd base at least somewhat adequately? Same with catcher. Give them both a few more games if they feel it's just a slump, but this situation needs to be fixed soon.

It will take one SEC series lost for rantards to jump of the bandwagon of 'it ain't broke so don't fix it'. Too much talent to not try other options with 190ish averages through 26 games. If we're winning right now, why not try other options? I'm not sure what is owed to Jacoby Jones.

I vote for a hero's parade in his honor down Perkins Road to lift his spirits.

You guys are hung up on JJ's prospect status to realize he isn't doing anything to help LSU win games.

Now, that doesn't mean he should be benched if PM doesn't have an IF on the bench. I bet PM wishes he did though.

So I see this is your first year following baseball at any level higher high school. Don't worry. The frustration will go away once you watch a few more games and get the hang of things. In the mean time, count yourself lucky. You picked one hell of a year to be following LSU baseball for the first time. This team has the makings of something special. So just have a few beers and enjoy the ride! You'll figure things out soon enough
