If you are losing your lane.... just don't die.
Don't give them free $$. Keep the CS relatively close, stay under tower, enable ganks. Even as a new player, I know that.

The other team getting a mild cs lead doesn't lose you the game.... feeding them free kills (with the CS bonus, probably tower bonuses too), that's what loses the game. Ugh. :sigh:

Ok, serious question. When the other team doesn't have a jungler and you end up with a 1v2 in a lane. As a jungler, what are you supposed to do to help?
1) Go to that lane and play 2v2?
2) Make a jungle run to get to lvl 3, gank, get a kill, rinse & repeat?
3) Don't change strategy?

You have two options, you can either camp bot and snowball that lane knowing that you won't get counter jungled, or you can camp top and try to keep the lane even. At your level, I wouldn't trust someone to know how to play a 2v1 lane. At high levels that scenario doesn't really happen. It really all depends on what champ is getting 2v1'd and their skill level.

You shouldn't do 1. Defiantly gank level 3, then grab their buffs for early level advantage. Making it a 2v2 lane is losing your team gold and the solo laner XP. You can't let them push the tower too hard either.

Ahh. So just play the south side of the map.
My jungle, gank, their jungle, gank, My jungle, etc.
Keep Bot and Mid snowballing and hope that the 3 of us can make up for top not doing well?

I find that when I tried to do a 2v2 and keep the lane even, it came down to champion selection and if my mid/bot were winning. Having smite instead of ignite kinda hurts finishing lane kills. Both of us lose out/split cs.
I thought the whole concept of the jungle was to get a 4th champion CS/gold instead of Mid/ADC getting full CS, top splitting, and Support getting none (or having two supports).

The truth is, you just can't help who gets put on your team.
I think I like the snowball approach, but Top usually cries about it being too hard and not fair.

In theory, there should be a rather large gold advantage for our team with the 2 top laners splitting gold (or making a top another ADC & Support).
If top can hold for me to lvl up for an effective gank, then between lvl 6-10, I find the jungler is scary strong. Usually getting a completed item (hydra), boots, and some mana/health boosters, plus the buffs.
Top usually doesn't hold on long enough.

I could always get mid to help gank and get a 3v2. Kill/push mid. Gank top.

I've started watching some youtube videos online, now with a little more of an educated eye.
1) Some junglers would do blue, then work all the way down to the golems, gank bot. Go back. Get golems, wraiths, wolves, gank top. etc.
2)Some would do bot, then gank bot, do blue side, gank mid/top. Do bot gank bot.
I assume both are effective strategies, but it's based on how the game progresses. So, that's a skill I think I'll need to develop better as a jungler (besides just mechanics and making plays. )

What do you guys think is the best strategy as jungler?

Not exactly. If the two people top are any good, they will be last hitting the majority of the creeps while your top laner will more than likely be losing a lot of creeps to tower shots. Your top laner will have a level advantage, but the gold will still probably stay pretty even, if not tilt in their favor even with you free farming both jungles.

So, how do you propose to counter-act it?

I would probably camp bot and snowball that lane and get a quick first tower. Try to feed my adc, then help top if he starts falling really far behind. You gain a lot of advantages by snowballing bot. You get control over dragon, and the global gold from the bottom tower will help your top laner out in the process. After you take that tower, you can do drag at any point without much fear of being stopped, which will also help your top laner.

There should be a level advantage for the 2v1 lane as well as for the jungler. To beat the 2v1 you really need a decent jungler. Not really camp but to keep them from pinning you so far under tower that they can hit it, and to get a gank here and there to keep the 2v1 laner able to farm

eta

Or what drew said

Shyvana clears quickly, but her ganks kinda suck.
I know that you don't have to get kills to have a successful gank, but it sucks to let them get away with a few bars of health.

I'm thinking of spending some IPs on a good jungler, b/c I kinda like that role.
I'm thinking Jarvan, Elise, Evelynn.
What do you think?

Top tank is ok. I can 2v1, but it kinda gets boring.
I'm not a very strong mid-laner, but I haven't practiced that much.
Support sucks to play when the ADC sucks.
ADC is fun sometimes, but I feel stuck bot.
Someone is usually losing their lane and having flexibility to help them out appeals to me (team player kinda mentality).
I'm thinking a good jungler would solidify my interest in that role.

Jarvan is far and away my favorite jungler, probably my favorite champ. His ganks are strong with a knockup and a slow, and once he gets six he just has retarded amounts of CC. He does pretty good damage for a tank, and one of my favorite things in team fights is E->Qing into the enemy ADC, knocking the whole team up, and sticking on them, forcing them to run away all while I beat their face in with my spear. But you have to be careful with that ult. You can either be a hero and save your carry or team, or securing a kill... or, you can be THAT jarvan that traps his carry in with opponents and fricks them over. "IM JARVAN, IM HELPING"

All I wanted to point out was that if support is boring, you're doing it wrong. I don't play as much as I used to, but support was my main for quite a while, then started jungling. A good support does lots for the team and even more for their ADC in laning phase and out of laning phase. Ward placement is most important, but you should be counterwarding, poking, etc. Sona is my favorite. Build a Kage's pick and her poke is stronk.

That being said, playing support to a shitty ADC is frustrating. I'm a damn good support so if you fail as ADC with me supporting, you really need help. If that happens I usually find whoever is most fed on our team after laning phase and stick with them to try to get them more fed.

I liked support when I had a decent free support champion, and decent ad carries.

Just sucks when adc sucks.
So after 8-10:00 and my adc has 20 CS. I say screw it.
Just the last week, it's been Zyra.
So luckily, she's a decent ap and I can help salvage the game.

Had top lane garen afk after a few waves. Went up to cover for him thinking he was just going back. Nope.

Luckily, I baited the two top laners to dive me under tower and got the double kill. Grabbed my buffs, ganked bot and started the snowball.

5v4 and well over an hour, but we won! It was awesome. So awesome.

Me and momo won a ranked game that was a 4v5, when our ADC dc'd.

He had 3 triples and a pentakill with Zed.

Very fun

The reason why people jungle to begin with is to maximize team experience by having 2 people ( top and jungle) getting solo experience. If the other team doesn't have a jungler you should definitely make sure you appear in top lane to help him if the tower is getting chunked down, but by attempting a gank. Any team without a jungler probably won't have wards, and 2v 1 they will probably be pushed under the tower making river hanks relatively easy. You should also be constantly invading the opposing jungle and taking their buffs while making sure to give your jungle buffs to your team, even red to ADC where it makes sense. In short, outside of having clear and free jingling paths on both sides, not an extreme amount changes you just need to be sure to provide enough pressure top to keep them from burning your tower. Once that tower goes you lose a lot of presence in the jungle, and worse that duo may now begin to roam and pressure yor other lanes.

Take all the buffs all the time for your team and help top keep his tower up. He is going to lose cs under tower but as long as the tower is staying up it is an advantageous situation for your team

I had a triple and my team ks'd my penta. I was pissed.

Did anyone see the new free champions this week?
All God-like champs.
Malzahar, Sona, Ezreal, Jarvan, Corki, Lee Sin, Nami.

Super excite.
I guess they are trying to keep momentum coming off of worlds.

I'll probably play all of them a few times to get a feel for their abilities, but I'm hoping to Jarvan Jungle a lot.
