I feel your pain.
I have a level 5 account and I can't imagine how awful I was when I first started playing. Now I know.
The headstrong attitude of people thinking they can just take on entire teams by themselves blows my mind. Then to top it off, they try it another 8-9 times then get angry and say the other team is hacking

I just had a game where the team was actually mad that I had 19 kills. Apparently I'm supposed to hand out kills like candy. Gragas uses his ult, completely misses his body slam, and annie starts running be hind the turret, he stops chasing. I ult in, kill her, then shadow out. He calls it a KS.

Last smurf game I played, we had two tops, a mid, and jungler. To appease everyone and prevent a fight, I solo'd bot lane. It was awesome hogging all the experience points to myself

I need to play thresh more. I live #supportlife but stuck in the old mindset of "if janna aint good enough, nothing is"
every time I try to pick up thresh I always flay in the wrong direction at least 1-2x no matter what.

Laning against Mundo as Trynd really isn't the worst thing in the world. Keep a minion wave in front of you and avoid the cleaver damage and your sustain will keep up with his. Farm the frick out of the lane and be the typical late game beast. I went 1/6/9 due to their mid and jungle constantly ganking (like seriously 6-7 times) and still ended up getting 5 towers and three total inhibs. Had the second most gold in the game. Only 400 behind our super fed Cait. Free farming is just as good as getting fed. When you're 100 farm ahead of everyone else, it doesn't really matter what your score is unless you're like 0/12.

Things were looking grim, then based helix came through with the DDOS attack. More people on our team were able to somewhat maintain a connection than the people on their team. We went from being down 17-5 to winning the game in insane lag. The team that should have won got a loss prevented and didn't lose any LP, meanwhile we got 11 free LP. Something good finally goes my way.

The thing about flay that fricks me every time, is that it isn't a true smart cast (or maybe I'm doing it wrong)
If your thresh is facing a certain direction, and you smart cast the flay, it will only flay the way he is facing. Meaning it won't turn your thresh towards the direction you want to flay to/from, if that makes sense.
So as Cait, if I want to use my Q, regardless of whether I'm facing forwards, backwards, left or right...where I smart cast my Q, is the way she is going to shoot it.
With Thresh, that isn't the case. you actually have to right click your self into position to make sure you are facing the proper direction. Smart casting flay won't work unless you make thresh face the way you want him to.
ETA: AD thresh is bad arse. Attack speed + Statik Shiv = beast mode. I always do it as a support on hexakill. The passive on his E (Flay) is just devastating. It's amazing.

So I got back into League a few weeks ago after trying it out a couple years ago (level 12 now). I've played pretty much every role a few times, but I'm mostly top or adc since that's what I've been more comfortable with. I'd really like to play mid more often but the few times I've played it, I've gotten straight raped for one reason or another.
Do any of you experienced League players have any tips for getting better at mid? Or just take my lumps and abuse from teammates and learn as I go?

I don't really play mid that often (if ever), but the few times I did I learned the following:
1- Ward your flanks
2- If you don't feel comfortable that you can dominate your lane, farm up and poke. At the least if you aren't going to get kills early/mid game, just don't die and feed their AP carry
3- Ward your flanks
4- Pay attention to your minimap. This becomes a habit over time and will help you to know when to play aggressively bc your jungler is coming to gank
5- Ward your flanks
Take these tips with a grain of salt, as I don't play mid much. There are people on here way more knowledgeable about mid than I am.
ETA: 6- Don't listen to anything Drewbie tells you.

ETA: I'm coming up on 6300 IP. Not sure who I should buy out of Yasuo, Jinx, or Lucian. I'm leaning towards Yasuo.

Massively OP, especially if you play against a shitty opponent who gives you a couple easy kills early.
Just please don't be THAT guy that spams "Pick champs with knock ups" in champ select.

It certainly helps, but I wouldn't even play ranked with him until I was completely confident in my ability to play him successfully on my own merit.
