Burke doesn't make any sense for our team. I will bet with anyone he is not chosen by the pelicans. Struggles defensively which is mainly why people hate Vasquez. We have zero quality wings on the roster. Drafting Burke means that we acknowledge the failure of the Rivers selection after one incomplete season with numerous injuries that Austin had to overcome. GV, BR, and AR are on the team and we want to add another point guard that's undersized and struggles to defend? Silly.

Demps will definitely get fired waiting for Rivers to turn into a point guard. He did absolutely nothing this year to earn that type of leeway and respect.

He has to come back next year and prove he even belongs in the league.

Roberts is a career backup, at best. Neither one of those guys will impact who the Hornets pick.

Burke isn't an upgrade defensively is my main point. Lacks quality athleticism. Hornets are in the top half if the league in offense and bottom feeders for defense. Point guard is the most important aspect of a good defense. Burke will get Monty fired and Demps will jump ship at that rate.

I don't think we'll draft Burke either

Though I'm really liking Darius Miller right now. I would love to see him continue to develop and have a role on this team

I was disappointed to see Rivers get hurt because he seemed to start learning what his role would be. I'd have loved to have seen if he could have kept that up at the end of the year

Burke also has the ability to go out and get 10+ assists when he wants to, which is something Lillard doesn't really do.

lillard has 8 double digit assits games in the NBA this year. After having none in college

he had to score more in college

They're gonna wait a long time if they're trying to find a lock down defender at PG.

There MIGHT be 5 really good PG defenders in the league.

lol wat? we are ranked 24th in points and defense used to be what we were good at and now we suck at that as well.

Is that really all that impressive though? He plays almost 40 mpg and i don't think he's missed a game all year.

no, but I think avg 6.5 assist a game and also able to score efficiently is very impressive. Especially for a rookie.

eta: his assist average will probably go up as he continues to play in the league as well.

The top half offensive stat is with Eric Gordon in the lineup.

Defense is our problem. Oladipo can almost guard positions 1-3. I couldn't imagine passing on him for a point guard. Scouts say porter will also be a very good defender. Noel obviously as well. Smart maybe, if he isn't too heavy...gets lots of steals.

Eric Bledsoe needs to happen. Just not sure we have the assets to entice Clips. I don't think Grevis or Jason smith have the same value on the market as they do for our team.

Marcus Smart will be a great defensive PG in the league.

I've got you beat.

Yeah, I don't get it either about Burke. I mean, I've only watched him play once so far, but was really impressed. I hate saying this, but he reminded me a lot of CP3 at Wake. Kinda similar numbers minus perimeter shooting and steals.

Making sure I'm not the only one confused at the little attention he's getting.

ppg is not accurate bc it doesnt count pace. according to efficiency stats- which include pace- this is a middle of the pack offense on the year and a near top 10 offense with gordon.

Same thing for defense. You really think they have the 14th best defense and Denver has the 23rd best defense?

Corndeaux nailed the point I was trying to make.

We need to grab a capable defender not Bazz/Burke.

Porter is optimal with the current roster. Oladipo has more upside. Noel could be a steal if he has a fall assuming health checks out. Smart is a wildcard. Many think he won't be a point guard in the league. All depends on what the plan is for Gordon.
