I can't speak for the others but Kotor crashes are very common on PC

That makes me feel better. I don't think it's a major issue or anything. Cooling isn't an issue either. It's more than likely a simple fix but I'm pulling my hair our trying to figure out what it is.

Did you fix the crashing? If not, I would definitely start with uninstalling AMD drivers and reinstalling the latest drivers. They don't necessarily have to be the beta.. What GPU is it?

AMD R9 Radeon 280x
I played Skyrim last night and didn't have any crashes but I may go ahead and uninstall the drivers and re-install anyway. How would you go about doing that? I have an idea on how to but I just would like someone else's advice on how to as well.

When you do the install it should give you an option on how to do it and part of one of the options is uninstalling the old drivers.

Do a complete wipe of old drivers with ATIman

Love that program.
Especially for removing Intel, Adobe and Java bullshtt.
Before I change to the 5930K, would like to do a 2014 Bench-Off against you guys. Lets figure out what handicap could be applied to the physics and combined scores for those of us on 2011 sockets.
Let us roll with both Valley and 3DMark11. I can hit 1293 and 1306 in Valley but 3DMark11 only can take 1228 as my max GPU clocks.
For those who plan to benchmarks or just want higher responsiveness after idle periods, look into Disabling Core Parking.

WARNING: Dipping into your registry is very dangerous, please be careful and double check every change you make.

Maybe AMD side? Serious.

I know that's your go to excuse but no it's a common problem. It's more of a windows thing.

3Dmark11 is unkind to Windows 8. My scores went down a few points. :(
I am seriously considering doing an Amazon switcharoo on my Elpida R9-290 as well. Memory can't go past 1400-1450.

Thanks guys.
I have windows 7 home professional 64-bit and am very happy with it. Is Windows 8 and 8.1 as bad as advertised?

I love 8.1. Just set the metro screen as a shortcut screen with all your favorite programs and it's the tits.
People bitch about the Apps too much. I've literally never used an app.

W8.1 is great, just it gets in the way of us OCs, benchers and gamers at times.

Here's my best bench so far. No OC on the 4770k yet
Edit: I need to find a way to unlock the voltage on these damn 7950s...
