I don't need programs but would like some help hosting the BE of our database.

There's nothing wrong with that. We can all agree that we are better than the consolers. Lol jk

Yea I am rather frugal. Kind of against my character to have spent what I did. I would love to go get a 670 now or something but I am just fine with the 7870.

can you use a controller on PC gaming or does that defeat the purpose?

All seriousness, like I have previously stated.. best part of PC building are the ppl that share the same interest in it. Always willing to help out and share knowledge. Consoles.. are just for straight "middle grade" gaming while PC gamers are building rigs for multiple reasons. AKA like stout, sweat and klark to name a few.

That was a very big part of another forum I used to frequent (it has since died out, unfortunately). Most people there frowned upon those who entered the benchmark contests with the latest and greatest excessive spending rigs - that even included excessive spending on watercooling. Back then we were all about modding heatercores, aquarium pumps, DIY shrouds and reservoirs, etc., coupled with serious overclocks and demonstrating knowledge/skill/ingenuity rather than budget size.

Not knocking those who have the money to spend on that stuff, of course, because my rig is not exactly a "budget" build either, but I'm just saying there's something to be said for the PC community members who do have the mindset of getting the absolute highest performance at an extremely tight budget. And even those with more money to spend were very smart about it.

*looks at newegg to buy 2 more 7970s* I'll need to upgrade my PSU if I want 2 more... and probably my motherboard... and if I'm upgrading motherboards, I might as well go with a newer socket....

Reason you build multiple builds =)

the graphics didn't push me to build a pc, the experience of getting to do so did.

IB-E Specs released

Yea I have been keeping up with it also and must say.. sort of disappointing (But we should have known). The Hexa cores won't offer much improvement from SB-E to IB-E.

Some are even thinking if Haswell OCs like Intel claims.. that for benches 1150 will be better for benching over IB-Es.

Looks like I may have found buyer for my monitors though! I'll be making the jump to 1440p as well

Which 1440p would you recommend?

The Korean IPS panels generally come from the same place. The key differences are in the bezels/stands. The only one I have experience with is the QNIX pixel perfect, and it's a great solid stand and of course no dead pixels. I've heard that the catleap stands are a little wobbly and uneven.

Unless you're wanting to pay $700+ for the overclocked ones...
