A kitchen remodeling in my house was the reason I was using an HD 5750 and an i5 clarkdale until the end of 2011.

Student loans are the reason I don't have a 1440p monitor

That's how it starts, just wait till the day when it isn't "my" money, it is "our" money

I don't plan for that to ever happen.

We both work and buy what we want and each other things all the time. Hopefully we keep that trend when married.

I think the natural gas out door fire pit will be cool. It was MY idea.. well I think it is. Maybe she is just making me feel that way?

It's not really that you can't get what you want, it's that whatever you get, she can get. So if I want to spend $1000 on pc stuff and we can afford it, we better be able to afford her buying a bunch of stuff too. Hard to tell her we need to save when I just spent a bunch of money.

Yeah you are right.

I treat her pretty good I must say. Everything I purchase something I try to share the joy by purchasing something she wants but wouldn't buy for herself. The reason though is because I'm probably hard to live with. Lol

I'm lucky, but also feel guilty, that my wife never wants anything. The most money she ever spends is when she goes to dinner with friends, which is maybe once every few months.

And I thought we were going to talk about cameras.

Here's one I took at the Belize zoo in June.

This might sound silly but do I need two of the exact same graphics cards to do SLI?

This is what I have now LINK

Or would it be better to buy two new cards?
Or one new card that's better then the 670?

I'm just curious, not really looking to do anything at the moment. Thanks

Don't SLI the 670. It's not worth it to buy another one since they're so over-priced right now. Buy a new single card like a 780 or when the 290x comes out

My wife isn't a big spender by any means, but things just change when you aren't thinking about just yourself anymore. We don't have a lot of spending money as is, plus we would like to move, careers up in the air, wanting to start a family... can't do whatever I want anymore

Second this..

Buy a single card solution when the 780 drops next week. Those GK104-325 chips are way over priced in this market.

For the price, it is great. Issue I have is AMD finally catching up to nVidia's 2yr old architecture.

The thing still isn't faster than a GK110-400 chip. They trade blows when AMD's chip is clocked 110MHz higher. (Talking BOOST/TURBO clocks) That is a huge difference. nVidia always worrying about TDP so all their cards come with a low factory clock. You put +100(Which almost every Titan owner does, +75 to +100), looks like it will be beat.

Glad it was released. This will finally bring those retarded nVidia prices down. None the less, in 3months time when Maxwell is released this thing will me middle tier and should have been middle tier 2yrs ago. We all know how that turned out. The US Government bought 80K GK110-400 chips for the "Titan" Supercomputer at OakRidge. Making nVidia cut down to a GK104.

Anyway, just disappointed. Scary Intel and nVidia might be alone in the desktop CPU/GPU space. I just want AMD to do better so we could keep these prices in check.

Your only looking at it from your perspective though. Sure the high end cards that does apply to and clock for clock nvidia is ahead like intel is but not everyone overclocks. Your point reigns true for the high end since that is enthisiasts anyway but the mid to lower end has a lot of people not oc'ing. It all depends though. I wish they did more reviews with oc'ing just to see the differences. the 7870 tahiti myst for example was an above average 7870 but if you wanted to oc then it was basically a 7950.

I really don't mean it. I'm really pissed at both companies for high prices and a generation late product. You really can't blame nVidia or AMD though.

nVidia used best industry practices and struck a high price point because no competition on high end. What we are upset about are the low/mid tier cards not being lowered.

AMD has always said 22nm will role out a completely new architecture, so maybe this is their Baby Jesus? What has kept them from not doing so was "factory and manufacture readiness"; meaning we are preparing the factory and procedures to produce a consistent quality 22nm chip.

When MAXWELL launches and then AMD's 22nm chip doesn't answer it, we will be fckked as consumers as stock holders will call for blood again.
