I have some Steam Keys for various games I would probably trade for that but Gardoki beat me to it.

since Gardoki replied first, he gets Crysis 3, but I have a bioshock Infinite key as well (in addition to the one I'm offering as a prize), if you are interested in a trade for that.

I want bioshock!

What game are you looking for as far as a trade? Batman series?

I have a rig just sitting that has a 2600K and 6950s in Crossfire. I need to find some use for it I guess. Nice rig.

i have an address you can send it to

My Define R4 should be in this week. Anyone have any info to share on the case? thoughts on fan placement, overall noise, radiators etc

What do you have for storage? You can actually mount the ssd behind the motherboard by the wires and put the hdd in the optical slots with some cheap brackets. This would remove the need for the hdd spaces in the front.

a 120GB SSD and a 2TB HDD for storage. the problem with mounting the SSD on the back of the tray is you have to remove the mobo if you ever want to remove or swap the SSD.

Pure awesomeness. That's what the 2600K rig is sitting in. A white Define R4 with window. I'm going to WC it eventually just to make it pretty.

Velcro or zip tie it to the back. If you're wanting silence, keep the fractal fans in there.

i couldnt pass up the all black standard for $79. what do you think about putting dual 140s in the front and just using a H60 in the back as exhaust and cpu cooler? Id hate to lose that sound dampening by opening up the top slots for a fan or rad combo.

That's what I would do. Put 2 up front as intake and one up top as an exhaust along with the h60 as exhaust in the rear

What do you have? I've played through the two Arkham games.

That's it for now... Any games you're looking for?

Edit: or PayPal?

I know the R4 has some good dust filters, but we now have 5 - count them - FIVE fricking cats in the house. Im a bit worried about shedding.

Thinking about moving the back 140mm fan to the front to pair with the pre-installed front fan and using the H60 as the exhaust. Thatll create quite a bit of positive pressure in the case and should keep the dust out.

I removed one sound dampening up top and put a fan in it's place, no real sound difference. I have more fans to install just haven't gotten around to it. I need to look into a nice way of raising the case from my table to get more out of it when I put the bottom fan in. There were some good mod ideas for that on OCN.

in my r4 I found that more than 2 in and 2 out fans was just diminishing returns. The fractal fans are pretty quiet for freebies. I have both fractal 140s upfront with 2 corsair af silents as my outputs (tip of the cap to coyote). Make sure to make use of that built in fan controller and crank it down to 5v. I don't notice particularly lower temps when stressing my gpu with fans at 12v vs 5v. Take out the upper HD cage which will leave you 3 sleds. I could never get a fan to fit properly in the bottom with my semi modular PSU. I believe you can move the bottom HD cage back a little to make room for an all in one cooler in the front. If I didn't already have a good air cooler I would probably get a H220 and some NFF12s to put in the front.

On the topic of air flow -- Blue et al.... The diagram below depicts my current fan setup. Those blue squares represent 120mm fans, except the one on the right. It's a 240mm fan. Arrows show airflow.

I am thinking about testing my temps after turning that block of four LED fans around so that they blow out. Let us hypothesize: Will this improve or hurt my temps, or perhaps stay the same?

OK so to verify the info in the diagram, you have:

Intake:
one 240, four 120s, and two 120s attached to rad
Exhaust:
three 120s all attached to rads.

a) how cool is the air coming in from the bottom (the two 120s attached to the rad). i cant imagine it being very cool at all since its coming off a rad.
b) how much airflow is being pushed by the 240?
c) how much airflow is being exhausted by the three 120s attached to rads?

the inside of the case must be spotless, thats a lot of positive pressure.
if you turn the block of four into an exhaust i would expect you to see a small dip in overall temps but an increase in dust (unless your case is highly filtered)

I agree with this. Negative airflow results in more dust and higher temps from everything I've read on the subject.

Where is that 4 fan block? is that on the panel where the window would be?

Yep. Those 4 are blowing in from the side panel.

I actually have more dust buildup than I'd like, and I suspected the culprit was the four fans. My front intake fan is filtered, as are the two bottom rad fans. I need to get filters for the four side fans.

The four fans are always running full speed, so about a total of 160 CFM from them. The 230mm fan is supposedly 110 CFM... not sure if I believe that. The front one is more restricted anyway.

The two intake rad fans are gentle typhoons, which are rated at 57 CFM, but they are never running full speed...

But, just going by the theoretical numbers at full speed, my intake CFM totals 380, and my exhaust CFM totals 170. Flipping the fans around would bring intake to 220 and exhaust to 330.
