I agree

4930K is in; installing now with the Lighnting.
Won't have the Titans and the 4930K together for another month probably. Waiting on the new ASUS MOBOs.

I figured you for a 4960X kind of guy
Posted on 9/12/13 at 8:04 pm to stout
He had to upgrade Hal in preparations for the looters
Posted on 9/12/13 at 8:10 pm to jcole4lsu
I fear for Coyote when Hal becomes self aware.
I am thinking about selling my whole PC and starting from scratch sometime in the next month or so.

I know.. i'm feeling a little bad for not buying the 4960X. I just COULDN'T justify +$450 for 3MB of L3 cache on a part that isn't a huge upgrade from SB-E on an old outdated chipset.
The bottom line Stout.. what really kept me away was the recent purchase of the Lightning for my HTPC upgrade and purchase of new Aquacomputer Res/Pump/Res/Blocks. That was almost a $2K hit right there. Plus, I'm almost maxed out my Steam SSD (Samsung 840 500GB) so I will be purchasing a 1TB Samsung pretty damn soon.
EDT:
Long story short, no real world benefit IMO to my overall system.

DO IT
4770K and Z87 (so I heard) is a great chipset. I really need to jump on board of the Z87 train. Think I will now since all my purchasing is nearly complete.

I was just messing with you. At some point you really do reach diminishing returns on the top of the line Intel CPUs IMO.

Fckk yeah.. and top of the line product price vs performance goes out the window and every step forward becomes a crawl.

Actually, I was looking into the 4930K as well.

Do you use sky net for security?

Man, frick all yall...
I think the next thing I get is a Case though. I need to quit using the multiple rads.
I need case that will fit a 480 rad. Which case labs fits the bill? (the smallest one) Can't mount it in the front.

What I will get for my next build
Not going to get rid of this 650D Coyote gave me though because that would be a dick move. I will do something with it. Maybe a back up/spare rig or something.

You upset me a little though because if the new AMD cards are not that great I was going to look into the MSI 780 Lighting and add another one down the road. Now that you have the 4930K and the 780L it would all look like I was copying you
I know but man I love that case. I also want the Kraken X60 from them because I am not into doing a full loop and have heard good things about the Kraken.

My SM8 can mount 2x480s + 1x360 at the same time. I'm going 480 top and 360 front but they are DUAL CIRCUIT Aquacompters sooo.. that is almost like an extra 120mm surface area per RAD.

Not really..
4930K + 2xTitans for main rig
3770K + 780L for HTPC
That isn't copying. Plus Stout, if anyone NEEDS an SB/IB-E it is YOU or BRUCE IMO. You guys do the most work which requires that type of horsepower.

I have played ArmA II wasteland but is ArmA III worth it for wasteland?
Looking into purchasing......

Ahhh...I didn't think about that.

I just don't like that the next wave of AMD chips all seem to be APU or those junk 220W high binned Piledrivers for $400 and $950. I think, as bad as it pains me, it's time to jump a sinking ship.

Does anyone want a Mark of the Ninja Steam Key?
Posted on 9/12/13 at 8:49 pm to stout
Intel might have crushed AMD and simply pushed them out of the server/high end desktop chip market. AMD are really doing great things with their APUs but that even looks to slow down. 2 or 3 more refreshes by Intel in that sector might crush AMD their!
