frick i would advise all you tards not to get this new DoJ moneypak virus. this version is much better than previous ones.
cant boot to safe mode
cant login to other users
hijack regardless if LAN cable is plugged in or not
scanned hdd via cradle with AVG, Malwarebytes, and IO bit malware fighter - FOUND NOTHING

i feel bad for this guy

I've removed the 'old one' at least 6 times from my old boss' computer. Haven't had a new one yet.

the 1st gen was easy, malwarebytes could take care of it.
the latest gen was easy too as long as you could boot to safe mode with command prompt and restore to a time before you had the virus, then malwarebytes and hitman took care of it.

but this? IDK what the hell to do
i cant think of a reason it wont boot to safe mode other than the virus is blocking it since it successfully boots in normal mode. the fact that 3 fully up to date programs cant find a single problem is really fricked up. i though MWB would at least find tracking cookies and PuPs. nope, not a single threat.

Good News!
we are at 12 teams in the fantasy league, and ive split us into 2 divisions: xboner sucks and PoS4.

if anyone else wants to join let me know in this thread, and ill add two spots. at this point joins must come in pairs to keep us even.

more good news: hitman kickstart successfully bypassed the infected login and started a scan.
bad news: scan didnt work

yeah i guess. hitman did find a file it identified as a trojan, but failed to successfully quarantine it. hopefully this is just because this particular flavor of the hijack is new and the various malware tools update their databases soon.

pretty sure its a java exploit, since i know a couple of people who have gotten the virus dont have any torrent or music dl programs.
eta: virus protection is pretty useless with this type of trojan.

I've gotten a few bad ones over the years even with virus protection, but I take lots of risks in some of the grimy corners of the internet I visit (mostly cracks, random file downloads for specific tools I need, and other piracy/mod-ish things), just out of curiosity sometimes, and there's never been a virus I couldn't remove without reformatting. (knock on wood)

Ironically, one of the worst I've had I believe came from a random seemingly safe site where I was reading a photoshop tutorial. It was one of those browser hijackers that really frick your world up Worse when it happens and there's no spare computer to Google the damn problem.

I honk everyone gets one at some point, usually not bad though. I need to backup my pc more often for this sort of thing but I don't.

Weird problem with my motherboard. I was in the middle of BF3, when I got a 124 BSOD. So of course I think, 124, vcore issues? Odd. This overclock has been stable, but I go into the bios and do some minor tweaks just for the hell of it... bump the Ring voltage a bit, as well as VCCIN. Save, Reboot, drives no longer recognized. I go back into the bios to find out that it only recognizes my Blu-Ray burner.

First thing I did was load default settings in bios. Didn't work.

Next, I move my SSD to an unused SATA3 port, Port 3, and my HDDs to two SATA2 ports. And now it works again.

So, for now I've concluded that for some reason, right at that moment, SATA3 ports 0, 1, and 2 stopped working. I doubt I'll spend much time wondering why it happened. Just going to RMA. Which means breaking down most of my loop again...

I was hoping to go home and watch games on tv all day and maybe game a little while my wife and her mom went to the game. Instead she wants me to go tailgate with her family for a while... her family doesn't drink and I can't drink at their tailgate... that's not even tailgating, that's just loitering
