That's all i do too but when my warranty runs up I may open it up. I just discovered the laptop section of OCN and I didn't know people try and undervolt their laptops to help with cooling. That just doesn't seem as fun.

Thinking of overclocking my i7 and/or 750m's on my laptop, could anyone show me a guide that could help me out?

There is a lot of good information for just about anything you may want to do with it.

like bruce said you probably aren't gonna have a lot of success. I don't know anything about your laptop, but because of space constraints the coolers are usually even less efficient that the stock heatsinks for cpus etc. Also, with so many parts close together I wouldn't be super comfortable generating more heat. I don't know if your cpu is even unlocked for OCing.

Yep, tons of heat. There's not just not much wiggle room with laptops.

Not surprised that is out of stock already.

I was reading about overclocking laptops yesterday and apparently a lot of people undervolt their cpu to help with the heat then overclock their gpu. It was interesting what they were able to accomplish with them. As long as they didn't change the graphics voltage heat wasn't too bad.

huh? Did you get a good deal on the parts or something, because that looks like a 2010 build with discontinued parts.

So I still haven't been able to order my parts and I see now that the 4 free games with the 7870 has turned into just Crysis 3. Any chance they go back to 4 games? I wanted to get Bioshock Infinite even though I've watched a playthrough of it.

Is there a difference between the sapphire 7870 and the ASUS 7870? I still get the 4 free games if I get the ASUS on NCIX.

ETA: Here is my build if there are compatibility issues: LINK

Sapphire card comes clocked 50mhz faster than the XFX card
also that Sapphire card is a dual x cooler ed, probably better cooling than the XFX card. XFX high end cooling is the double d models.
