After much hand wringing about which gun to get my choice was made for me when my name came up on the wait list at Ron's in Bossier. I've been on their list since January - props to them for actually keeping up with a waiting list. I also got lucky enough to find a 100 round box of ammo for $25.

It's already caused some drama: after getting it disassembled and cleaned up I couldn't get the slide to lock back to rotate the frame lever. I took it apart again and finally got it right.

I appreciate all the good advice I got in the previous thread I started here.

Now I'm on to holster shopping. Anyone have experience with the Sneaky Pete line? They look pretty covert.

Or the DeSantis mini scabbard?

I wouldn't wear it
It's bordering on the realm of fanny packs

Yeah I'm definitely ordering the supertuck. Long wait on those too.

This... I have the king tuk... probably the most comfortable holster I've ever used.

Sweet gun! That holster wouldn't carry my wallet, much less my gun. Fanny packs are for guys like JAB

Theis Holsters
Same holster, great quality, $5 less
Seems like everyone is copying the Crossbreed these days

You could also check out white hat holsters. It's built just like the super tuck but your wait time will probably be much shorter. I carry my Ruger SR9c very comfortably in it.

Update: finally went shooting. I was surprised how much I liked the stock trigger. I was planning to do the Apex kit but I don't think it needs it. The magazines are a bitch to load so I just ordered an Uplula from Amazon.

Also, S&W has magazines in stock so I ordered a couple extra 8 round ones. Not bad at $38 - eBay has them for much higher.

As far as accuracy goes, I hope practice makes perfect because I sucked. As soon as ammo becomes more readily available I plan to go shoot during lunch breaks much more often.

GMM,
I've no experience w/ the holsters you mentioned. Are you planning on carrying the Shield IWB? Do you need to have a tuckable holster? Do you like Kydex or prefer leather?

Saw one for cheeeeeap on eBay. I'm going to order that and the DeSantis OWB (s&w branded) and see how they feel. I like the idea of having a kydex/leather iwb and the option of the leather owb.

Besides the magazines, my best purchase today was an Avery duck blind bag at Cabela's for $20 to use as a range bag.

The guy that owns Foxx is awesome to work with. If you go to his sight you can order some custom options(clips, color kydex, etc.) He also has some videos on how to adjust the tension on the kydex if you dont like the medium tension he ships it with. I paid 49 with the under belt J-hooks. I ordered my wife one with the pink kydex.

I use a Hidden Hybrid Holster and a MR Softy by High Noon Holsters. The Hidden can be worn iwb or owb.
