Very happy to hear this.
I only gave the Saints a 5% chance of landing him after he left.

Butler was an effective sub, with 11.0 sacks in four seasons, but he was stuck behind DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer in Dallas. The Saints can offer him more play-time, as they’re desperately looking for pass-rush help as they transition to a 3-4.
Having Butler around should help Ryan install his system as well.

YES!
Butler was my #1 target of need out of all of the FA's the Saints have been looking to add.
With Butler on one side ....& Jarvis Jones or Mingo on the other, the Saints will finally have a pass rush teams can't ignore. Swilling & Jackson 2.0 (...ok that's a bit much).
But add in, Gallette & Martez in rotation spelling those guys, and I'd say our pressure defense overall takes a significant step up this year. This could help our secondary tremendously as well.

This allows him to get that big contract he was hoping to get this go 'round.
Put in solid two years as a starter, get the big money in 2015.
