I prefer a 40, until I have to buy more ammo. Then I remind myself I'm shooting a 40 and not a 9, and that I prefer a 40.

i just bought a .40 and i can hardly find ammo. 9 is a little more accessible at the moment.

I would hold out for the 9. You will be able to put more shots on target faster than you can with the .40. .40 is snappy, especially in smaller, light guns.

How long can you hold out? I passed on the 40 about 6 months ago, and i'm yet to even see a 9 in shops. Wish i would've gotten it. 399 at academy.

1. Hold out the 9.
2. Keep it for yourself.

What he said.

There's a reason they're hard to find. Plus, I'd think muzzle flip could be an issue with a 40 Shield.

I have the 9mm and i would imagine the .40 would have a little too much pop for this little gun. I would guess it would be a personal choice based on your shooting abilities.
I put a deposit down at jims december 23rd and got mine within a month, FWIW

You probably don't need a .40. I have 9MM's and .45's and no .40's.

Using your logic, why do you need these?

You're reading too much into that. With today's ammo a .40 isn't worth the extra cost in ammo IMO. And c'mon dude, everyone should have a 1911 .45 ACP.
