First Friday I'm debating on these two:

9pm Howlin Wolf: Dumpstaphunk performs Parliament Funkadelic
Rebirth Brass Band performs Michael Jackson
The New Orleans Soul Stars play James Brown

First Sat I have tickets to both of the following: Debating on which one or both.

10pm Republic: The Meter Men featuring Leo Nocentelli Zigaboo Modeliste George Porter Jr.
Page McConnell

2am The Maison:Tryptophunk with
George Porter Jr. Brian Stoltz Mark Mullins Craig Klein John Gros Terrance Houston featuring
Page McConnell
plus Dumpstaphunk

2nd Friday hitting fya fest during the day:

George Porter Jr. with Anders Osborne, Billy Iuso and Eric Bolivar
Dragon Smoke, Dr. Klaw, Karl Denson with the Dirty Dozen Horns! The New Orleans Suspects with the Bonerama Horns! Funky But Better, The Revivalists

Then if still alive the Bayou Randevous late night at Howlin Wolf
9 pmThe New Orleans Suspects
11:30pm The New Orleans All-Stars
featuring Johnny Vidacovich, Ivan Neville, Theresa Andersson and Anders Osborne
1:30am Papa Grows Funk featuring the Bonerama Horns
3:30 am The Motet performing "Funk is Dead" and original material
Wolf Den Stage
10pm: RumpleSTEELskin featuring Roosevelt Collier & Ed Williams with Rob Mercurio and Simon Lott
12pm Hot 8 Brass Band
2am Doug Belote Trio featuring Mike Dillon, James Singleton and special guests
4am: Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band
6am: Juno What?!Sunrise Breakfast Jam with special guests

2nd Saturday
Probably either Anders and John Gros at Howlin Wolf, or the Meter Men at the Republic.. Whoever I didn't see weekend #1.

What am I missing? Ha. Going to be a sick 2 weeks!

Not much. Those plans look great. I don't think I could physically pull it off. Fiya Fest is going to be great though and covers a good amount of the late night artists across the board. The only tickets I have bought already are the Meter Men ft. Page 1st weekend. I will also be at Dr. Klaw

Excited about Fya fest. Prob gonna go hard that friday/ friday night. Not planning on going to the fest saturday. Might rest up sat night as well and get to the fest early Sunday for a spot at Acura. Brassaholics-The Meter Men- Black Keys- Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave should be an epic way to end the fest.

I see Frank Black is playing the U.S. Mint as "Black Francis" on the final Sunday.

What kind of stuff is he doing these days? Is he living in New Orleans again?

What's his solo stuff like? I never really listen to him any more. I remember Frank Black and the Catholics, but I never was motivated to give it a shot.

I'm going to Black Keys, I'm debating whether it would be worth getting dinner, then skicking around for another show.

I'll probably go to Greyboy Allstars the first Friday at Maison. Hopefully Karl Denson sits in, his show with them in 2008 at Blue Nile was amazing. Earphunk on the bill is also a welcome bonus.

Dr Klaw

Robert Randolph

Midnight Disturbers (all star brass featuring galactic, big sam, shamarr allen, trombone shorty etc... depending on who is free)

and i havent seen this years announcement but looking out for khris royal and living colour guys jamming out again under the name wimbash (but with KR on the road im doubting it happens)

edit: nevermind - its on, and FANTASTIC.I highly reccomend this one. last year it was empty and was just a long jam the guys hung out with the 50 or so in the crowd before and between sets. cover all kinds of classics and last year had nigel hall, nevilles, among others sat in from around frenchman

WimBash>>New Orleans 2013 feat. Corey Glover, Vernon Reid, Will Calhoun, Doug Wimbish and more

Returning for the third year on May 4, 2013 to New Orleans during the famed New Orleans Jazzfest celebrations, WimBash>>New Orleans 2013 brings together New Orleans own premiere saxophonist Khris Royal and Dark Matter with rock legend Living Colour's Doug Wimbish, Vernon Reid, Corey Glover and Will Calhoun. Blues - rock guitarist Adam Falcon along with many special guests will be joining the jam as the night goes on
