What should I expect at the Shell Houston Open tomorrow?

Just got handed a pair of tickets and a parking pass, but I don't think I can make it out there at all. I am trying to figure out when would be the best time to get out there if I want to see some action just for a bit. Should I just go early and then get to work for the afternoon? Or get to work early as shite and then try to get out there for late morning?

I have never been to any PGA (or any other golf) event, so I have absolutely no idea what to expect. I tried to find a schedule or something but all I found were TV schedules.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Look at the groupings and see which ones intrigue you the most, morning or afternoon. Post up on a hole and watch the action. The best is at par 3s or the greens on par 5s. You get the guys that go for it in two, and close up action of the short games of the guys that lay up.

Where would I see the groupings? All I found was this

quote:

Starting field of 156 of the world's best golfers begin play for $6.2 million in prize money. Tee times off No.1 and No.10 tees from approximately 7-8:50 AM. and 11:30 AM - 1:20 PM. The GOLF CHANNEL coverage 3-5 PM.

ETA: nevermind, I found it.

Redstone is stupid in how spread out it is. Just go to 18 green or fairway, or 1 anywhere. Unless you want to do a ton of walking

Expect to gain a better appreciation for what some of these guys can do from first hand experience. You're gonna love it, enjoy your time out there.

If you bring a broad, make her wear tennis shoes. Sandals won't cut it. Well, they'll cut her feet.

Question: my wife and I are going on Friday and plan to follow Group 30 (Dustin Johnson, Rory, Keegan) who tees off at 7:50.

What time should we get there to get a good spot by the tee box? I'm thinking no later than 7:30.

What do you consider a good seat? As in the grandstands? You'll be fine 5 minutes before tee

I'd get there as soon as the gates open..I've been to 2 pga championships, 1 us open, 1 masters practice rd and a couple regular season events and its pretty tough to get close to groups with rory, tiger and phil. You might be able to jump ahead a few holes and get a good spot and watch a couple groups in front of them play the hole first.

I don't think they have grandstands on #10.

Good seats is your up against the ropes, even with the pro when he's teeing off.

Good point. We may go straight to #11 and watch Group #31 with Haas and Brandt and camp out for #30.

Didn't even look what tee they were going off. 10, you'll be fine to get on the ropes 5 minutes before

If Rory's group is 30 then it would be group 29 that is in front of them..so it would be Casey, Bae and Gillis. Either way during the majors we would get in front of the big groups and then watch them play that hole and then run ahead a couple holes and repeat.
