That stinks. I got there about 15 minutes before it opened. Seated right away once the doors opened.

Dante's Kitchen sounds interesting. How long would it take to get there via street car? The kids would like that.

It was around 1030a I think when we got there. People standing all outside and stuff.

Not sure the tracks are all finished. It would take about 35 minutes with a 3 minute walk from Maple and Carrollton.

last time I ran St. Charles neutral ground last Thursday street car service stopped at Jefferson. had to transfer to a city bus after that to get to Tulane/Audubon/Carrollton.

Personally, I would skip all the places offering brunch and have a regular lunch somewhere. More likely to find a table at a good restaurant and lunch fare > brunch fare.

You may want to make the reservation at Criollo just in case.
Another option is the buffet at the Royal Sonesta. I've heard they do a pretty good buffet, but I haven't been there myself. I don't much care for buffets, but it seems that I've read that theirs is very good for a buffet.
Also, you can check Tom Fitz's site for restaurants open on Easter. It's not all inclusive, but it may help for some other ideas. www.nomenu.com
You could check out Mandina's. Not a brunch, but open on Sundays, typically, and you could take the kids on the downtown streetcar down Canal to get there IF there's a reservation available.

If many of ya'll think going out to eat on Valentines day is the bad, I'm surprised so many of ya'll are going out on Easter Sunday. Not only is the food worse, but the crowds are insane with little kids.

We eat out in Nola every Easter and it's always been fine. I like kids, so that doesn't bother me. It's Easter for crying out loud, but those who are bothered should stay home for sure.

I didn't mean your kids, just in general. It's obviously a family day, and personally I would prefer being at home with my family not someone elses. I was just comparing the ridicule Valentine's Day Dining receives compared to other Holidays.

No worries, I agree sometimes it's hard to get good advice and not bogus advice here.

Mandina's is a good option with kids. It's loud so they don't have to be quiet. Same with Arnaud's or most other jazz brunches. The atmosphere is festive with the music and there are lots of families with children having Easter lunch. The Easter bunny runs around the room giving out candy at Arnaud's. My favorite place for Easter.
