Number three is going to be about the LaLaurie mansion on Royal in New Orleans. That place has a wicked history, this will be great.

Season 3 has the opportunity to blow the other two out of the water, and that's a tall task. The writing is good albeit a little scattered in season 2.

Damn good watch. Different story lines each season. Completely engaging.

Agreed. Season 1 had a more consistent story IMO. Season 2 was good as well, but could've been so much better but I don't want to spoil too much. Season 3 definitely has the potential to surpass the other two IMO.

I'm in the minority but I thought season 2 was better than season 1.

I was hoping they would do something based in Salem with witches, but I am now very excited for the New Orleans story.

To the OP, keep watching. It's a really good show. I like the first season better than the second. But still really enjoyed both, just thought the second had a little too much going on.

agreed and while i agree the 2nd season is a bit more scattered, i like the ending of the 2nd season better than the ending of the 1st season.

all in all, i liked both about the same which is very much. jessica lange in the 2nd season was awesome.

Season 3 is "American Horror Story: Coven", for those who don't know.

Oh, and its confirmed setting is in New Orleans with witches.

I've only watched season 1. My gf loves it but I thought it was just okay. Not terrible but it always left me feeling a little dissatisfied. Think the characters just got kind of monotonous, despite the story arc having some interesting twists and turns to it.

Vindicating fan speculation that the horror series’ latest go-round will revolved around witches, Murphy has dubbed the season American Horror Story: Coven. During the AHS panel, attended by Murphy, as well as several AHS cast members, he also confirmed that shooting will take place in several locations across the country – though he only mentioned New Orleans by name.

quote:

The mention of morality raises a slew of other questions about Coven‘s plot. Will its witches be kindly witches, a’la Glinda, or vicious Hansel & Gretel-styled creatures? Will the show treat magic as Buffy the Vampire Slayer does, envisioning it as a female, earthly force, or will we see wart-nosed monstrosities riding on brooms and baking children into pies? Of course, the more pressing question is whether or not magic will even play a role in the season’s story; at the panel, Murphy chose to remain mum on the subject. (Though he did reveal that, just as season one had the Rubber Man and season two had Bloody Face, season three will have its own signature monster, who will be female.)

(the only reason I said LauLaurie is a guy on my Facebook who is big into Haunted History stuff said they were shooting scenes at it and the production was A&E)
