@JimmyDetail: Florida defensive standout Sharieff Rhaheed set to visit #LSU tomorrow to make things official. NOLA.COM

Staff said committ was good, just wanted him to visit campus. Didn't see it posted anywhere else

"They told me that my commitment was good, but they want me to see the campus before everything is official and it should be just a normal visit really," said Rhaheed, who will be accompanied to LSU by family. "Everything about the trip excites me.

What are they looking at if they dont need to see him at camp? Just to confirm his measurables?

Weird but Rhaheed doing this shows he really wants to be a tiger

I think people forget about things like just meeting him and seeing what kind of person he is, is a pretty big deal. Also, coaches want kids to visit and get a good grasp of what to expect as far as surroundings so nothing is a surprise down the road. I totally understand why they want a kid to visit before officially committing.

Sounds more like a 2-3 zone than a full court press.

The staff gives very few completely commutable offers. Usually it's contingent on visiting the campus. With the numbers game every year it doesn't make sense to take a commitment from a guy who hasn't even visited campus.

This. How can a kid seriously commit without ever having been to the school? What if he comes down here and hates Walk-ons, is scared of the live tiger and thinks BR is not as fun as Starkvillee?

Makes sense. Before you count a kid as a commit, have him visit, show him around. Make sure he doesn't send any red flags with his behavior and make sure he likes it. If you like the kid and the kid is still enthusiastic at the end of the visit, then make it official.

Based on what? Commitment to LSU, camps, film, article?

Or is this a guess. Just curious because with the numbers do tight and this class having the potential to be a 2-3 championship class why take flyers or projects?

From the limited film I've seen of the kid he's just a good if not better than his teammate who is in the 247 top 250. I also think he has a much higher ceiling with his frame and athletic ability than his teammate.

I think he is a tweener but I think he will be good at either one he's fast as shite and plays with good football instincts at lb. but the guy is 6'3 6'4ish and should be able to add weight and stenghth without losing speed. Think barkevious Mingoish type player but not 198 lbs when he gets to campus and more of a developed football player.

This kid is so explosive.. gets to his man so quickly. Screams DE to me.. would fit a 3-4 defense perfectly, but glad that he chose us.
