I know they got rid of a lot of salary between redoing Vick's deal, and cutting Nnamdi, Jenkins, Babin and so on, but how do they still have so much space? I feel like they've made a few decent signings name-wise this offseason already. Are they just handing out big signing bonuses, or are they taking discounts to play there? Or maybe they haven't done as much as I'm think they have.

Victor Butler is getting a lot of interest for various reasons, but as 1 exec pointed out, also can play on special teams. Added value.

I don't see them as a contender. Hopefully he won't either.

He won't care if they offer him 30 percent more. Nor should he.

I'm not really worried about Cleveland as I think he's going to want to go to a team where he'll be a surefire starter. I think the Eagles are kind of in the same boat, Barwin will sure start, and Graham is pretty solid himself. Guess we'll see, but if the money is close, Saints provide a better chance to win a championship and a better chance for him to start, thus the best chance to make bank on his final big deal when he hits FA as a 28 or 29 year old.

I don't really see the big appeal with the guy. Maybe added depth, but Lofton and Hawthorne are your starters inside. Hell, that's where Hawthorne played in Seattle.

Galette on one side and I'd assume Wilson on the other if we don't draft a guy.

I'm lukewarm on this like every other free agent still out there we're looking at. Honestly, I'd be most excited if we sign McKinnie. Then I would know for certain we aren't wasting a first on OL

How is getting someone legit to protect our 20M dollar qb a waste? I get he hasn't had a stud LT in the past but it would make his life a hell of a lot easier.

Our line hasn't exactly sucked the last 6 years.

Our defense was the worst EVER last year.

And our O line will have a different player at one of the tackle spots. Previous success/failure does not guarantee the same in the future. If LT becomes a turnstile we turn from an offensive based team to a shite based team. We were also using a defensive scheme that did not suite our personel. You take whoever you feel will be the best in player regardless of position.

As long as that position is not offensive line I'll be happy

Good point from rotoworld:

The Eagles are deep at outside 'backer after the Connor Barwin signing. Perhaps their visit is a smokescreen aimed at getting teams to believe they want another one at No. 4 in the draft.

They could be worried about a team (Lions stand out) jumping them for Fischer.

What are state and local taxes like in Philly/PA? In other words, does Philly have to pay more to guarantee more takehome pay? Players pay attention to that stuff these days... unless the franchise is so unbelievable that it doesn't matter i.e. The Yankees (which I don't think applies to the current Eagles).
