I have no problem with it Toddy. I'm not gay and I won't hold my breath or throw glitter in someone's face if I don't get my way. I also won't hyperventilate when I see a Starbucks cup! I thought it was topical, and from the response, it was.

Then why are you putting words in the CEO's mouth? Have you even watched a video of the exchange? I have.

1) since Shultz returned as CEO Starbucks stock value has increased from $19.79 to $57.38. If his job as CEO is to run the company he seems to be doing ok.

2. Tom Strobhar owns a reported 1 share of Starbucks to Schultz's 18,580,169. So, maybe Strobhar selling that one share wouldn't hurt the company

3. The other Shareholders at the meeting seemed all about the 38% return rate and applauded Shultz' response.

He'd better hope Starbucks shares don't drop.

He's safe even if Starbucks shares do drop.

As I said, Shultz had better hope Starbucks shares don't drop.

After reading the article and the context it was said, PatDollard.com needs to calm the frick down with their sketchy arse headlines.

One can support traditional marriage while also supporting gay marriage, which means that the titles of both the OP and the linked article are false.

Why? He's not violating any fiduciary duty and companies supporting or oppose political positions all of the time.

Yeah but I think NC is implying that taking his position puts Schultz and/or Starbucks in actual legal trouble should the shares drop, which I do not believe is the case.

Hopefully they'll drop and we can find out.

I labeled the thread the same as the video. Not my words.

I didn't. I labeled the thread exactly like the video was titled.

If the thread/article title wasn't directly stated, then I can only assume they inferred that from the quote above- which would make it a faulty conclusion IMO.

If your wife told you," if you don't like the way things are around here, you can find another place to stay"! What would you conclude from that?

What an absolutely horrendous, misleading headline. Confirmation bias on this board never ceases to amaze me.

I don't care what his viewpoint on gay marriage, or any issue for that matter, is.

But saying you don't want people who disagree with you to support your business is fricking idiotic.

Good think I don't buy Starbucks anyway
