We take 2 of 3 from the really good teams and sweeping 2-3 of the scrubs will be massive in keeping us at the top of the sec standings and in the drivers seat to host a super.

We have to fully expect to lose a series or two against some of the really good teams, and expect one of our starters to be off against the scrubs and they take a game. Sweeping when we can will keep us in the top of the standings, and polls.

I'm feeling a special baseball season!!!!

shoot i can see glenn being off maybe 2/3 sundays but our "o" might pick him up for a couple of those. we cant expect nola or eades to be off 2/3 weekends so im fully expecting 2/3 or sweeps every week.

This has the look and feel of a special team. It has the feel of a team with the potential to bring home CWS title #7.

However, I saw the 2010 team get off to a 32-6 start, looking like a lock for a national seed, only to lose 16 of their final 23 and not even host. Therefore, I'm going to keep my optimism somewhat guarded. Baseball is a funny game.

I see some very big potential in this team. A lot of youth in the offense with two studs on the mound and leadership in two of the four spots up the middle. The question mark for me was the freshman at SS and the top of the Line up. At this point that question has been answered and I'm looking forward to the second two thirds of the season.

Sweeping Missouri would be huge.

That would put LSU at 2 games ahead of 20-10 pace with some tough series up ahead.

Yeah, they are doing well, but its still early. There are still some bats that need to get hot in the order, and pitching has been up and down. There were times in the AU series that things just broke our way. Didn't have the feel of a dominating performance, even though we won by decent margins. Got to keep getting better, but you have to be excited about the start, and what the youth have brought...

Agreed. I guess to put it another way I expected it to cost us a few losses to start identifying our more picky issues. There will always be a cold bat or a guy who needs an inning or two midweek to get straight. Thing is we've won the games in such we've identified these weaknesses. That's strong IMO.

That will only happen if Mizzou gets their field and stadium swept by next weekend....

Ibarra has been a huge surprise for me. Dude can hit and throw the leather out there. Laird and Bregman just know how to get base hits. Very mature approach by them at the plate.

In 2009 we took 2/3 eight times, lost 2/3 once and swept 3 once for a record of 20-10. BTW, the sweep was against Auburn.
