Can you freeze raw oysters?

Just bought a gallon & can't use them all...


And if I can't freeze them-how long will the keep refridgerated?

Yes you can freeze them. Just make sure they have water in them. They will freeze fine and should last for a while (6months or longer).

they freeze very very well.Just make sure you use the liquor and top off with enough water to cover.Then don't fill container to the rim because as it freezes, it will push the top off. Laws of Physics you know....................I ust fried some I froze a year ago.

10-14 days from shucked date in fridge. Just keep ice in gallon to keep oysters colder. I would freezer as soon as you can if you want them to last long frozen or if you can't eat them all fresh.

Yes, you can freeze oysters without much chance of damage to them. I think it is named Motavit a company in Metarie that sells the pre-shucked half-shell oysters served by some restaurants.
