Rip Kirk

What does anyone know about this kid? I met him at the LSU store by Mike's habitat. He was on a recruiting trip that weekend. Big kid, threw for 2200 plus yards with, I think, 28 TD's as a junior. Said he LOVED LSU!!! Anyone seen him play.

Love the name. He's likely a smaller college guy, only way he ends up at LSU is as a walk-on.

And to the post above me

Watched him play in the 6A state championship this past season, meh... Not sure if he is 6'3 230 as a lot of recruiting sites have him listed. He's surrounded by a ton of talented athletes and has a lot of room to improve mechanically

Would really like to choke off the Ole Miss South Panola train by getting this guy. From what I understand, he's already all Ole Miss.

USP coaches aren't letting one of their studs get away to LSU.

I've seen the kid. 6-3, 230 is legit. In fact, I'd say the big concern with him is he gets north of 230. He's got the body type to put on weight like all the QBs LSU tends to recruit from Mississippi (Garrett and the kid last summer who ended up JC).

But I'd agree, the SEC may be a stretch for this kid.

The Batesville to Oxford path is tough to compete with. Ole Miss pretty much has direct access to SP kids starting in junior high

He played at a small private school before transferring and becoming starter at SP. That's a pretty big jump for a kid going from 30 in his class to 400. Another year at SP and who knows how much he'll progress.

My son played against these boys 3 times on the varsity team and Freshmen, too. They are all held back one year in the 7th grade if they appear to be good players. They are a year older than other HS players up here. Philip went to the State and OM camps, as well as LSU's [twice], he said they were already shaving and some were 18 already when Philip and his classmates were 16. I can check out this kid, Rip Kirk, like I have others in the past including JOB3 and Garrett. I'd be willing to bet that he's all Ole Piss, if not State, but, you never know. That Oxford QB last year wanted out of Ms. and to go out of state,I was surprised, but, he had grade problems. South Panola is all Ole Miss, I've been to games over there,OM flags and stuff are everywhere, About like Gonzales or Denham Springs to LSU.

I coach against SP every year here in the MS Delta. I can get some low down on this guy in the next few days.
