Not sure about the price for the Edge but that's a lot of miles on a 2013.

As far as the Taurus goes it's a good family car. I had a 1998 that finally died in 2010 with 170k miles on it. Only major issues were the transmission at 98K miles and then again at 170K. 2nd time around wasn't worth sinking another 3K into it. But other than that it was still still in good shape, wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

We went to same dealership.
Asked about new one that was identical to the 30, 000 mile edge.
Price listed online at $30, 681.

They wouldn't come down any. They said Ford cash and financing was in the price.

We will buy new over high mileage car, but we walked.

I plan to see what's still there. Next week is right before April 1st. Do they want to make quota with Ford?

Well the 1st time was under warranty so I accepted that a little better. But I'll take 12 years and the milage on most cars. I like the room of the car much better than an Accord or Camry but to each his own. Not arguing which is better, my overall experience was not that bad, at least in my eyes.

Have had the newer models as rentals many times and seem like a solid car. If I was shopping I would also look at the Nissan Altima, seems a little roomier than an Accord and Camry as well, but not sure. My main concern is reliability on any vehicle as I will keep it at least 10 years, more if possible.

I'll vouch for Tacomas. mine was at 162k and still ran perfectly.
You could tell it wasn't 100%, but I bet it could have made another 100k miles easy. Good trucks.

You're not really comaring apples to apples. A corolla might be reliable but it's not really in the same class as a Taurus, at least size wise. Same with your SUV and PU comparisons.

I think this has been picked part too much really. I researched cars for months figuring out what I wanted, what I could afford, pros/cons, of just about EVERY brand of auto.
I test drove the Buick Regal GS, Jaguar XF, Ford Explorer, Mercedes E class, Audi A7 and A6, Toyta Avalon, Porsche Cayenne, and some others.
On friday I was going to get either a used 2012 Audi A6 2.0 or brand new Toyota Avalon limited.
I had no idea about the vehicle I ended up getting until I randomly saw it at the dealer and was sold on it.

I didnt dislike anything i looked at, except i dont really like the whole four cylinder thing. These days their isn't as clear a line between brands. There is quality to be found in any brand, and most types of vehicles. It's all about what fits you best, your needs, desires, and your price level.

The only thing I am disappointed about is that I won't be test driving all those different vehicles anymore.

For what its worth you probably made a good choice over the others and it does look sweet. But with that being said the car wont last like a Toyota or get the resale. Keep the 5k you saved on an Avalon in the bank because you will need another transmision figure somewhere around 30-60k miles. I have been through alot of those in my taurus company cars in my day. Did the Avalon Have more room than the Taurus?
