New Gun purchase back ground check.......

Did the background check at Precision 10 days ago for 2 mailorder rifles that they received for me.
I got a "wait" status and have been wating 10 days for a fricking clear.
I mean shite, I bought a gun 6 months ago and all was good.
Plus I have a Passport, TWIC card, MMD, and USCG captains license, all federal docs.
Anybody else getting long waits on a clear status ?

you should only have to wait 3 days, unless the store has a policy of not releasing until you get the pass. if thats the case, go to another ffl, getting a "pass" or all go for a delay might not happen.
I always get a delay, but never a "pass" after the 3 days to prior to 30 days. I can't buy guns at academy for that reason.

Filled out mine at academy Monday they said this may take a few minutes. I walked out to my car and as I got to the front desk they called me back to the sporting goods counter. It went through in less than 1 minute.

That is not right. If you get delayed you should only have to wait for three days. Have you actually checked with them about getting your guns. It says in their license that if they dont hear back after those days then the guns can be released to you.

NM, you're saying just go to another store and see if the background check goes through. I thought you were telling him to go to another FFL for the actual transfer.

Had three weapons transfer through Precision in last 60 days. None of the BG Checks took more than 10 minutes. These purchases included a black gun - AR15.
Different subject . . . the first two cost me $25 each, But, the last one cost $40 so I think I will find another handler.

No they dont. They actually take possession of the gun. It is theirs with the deal to sell it to the buyer. It can legally be transferred straight to another FFL and then they can sell it to the buyer.
I have NEVER heard of a store waiting more than the delayed days. They either have no idea what they are doing are just being pricks. Just doesnt make any sense why they would do that.

Academy policy FWIW, they only sell if the get an all clear from NICS, not just because you have waited the normal 3 days without a fail

I did not know that. I have never had to buy a gun from Academy. Ive also never been delayed. I wonder why they do that. I have seen background checks that we NEVER got a reply back about. We sold the gun after the alotted time but we also never heard back from them about the background check.

That would be me. NICS rarely gives the all clear after the 3 days, they just assume the gun dealer releases the gun. it sucks, I have an academy right down the street from my house, but I always get delayed, so I can't purchase guns there. Have tried 6 times, then finally gave up

So if they dont "hear" back, they can just release the guns ?
I sure hope I dont have to get into a pissin match with em and em up flamin Precision Firearms on de webz.
