Want to slow cook one in the crock pot and want a new recipe. I don't like too much BBQ sauce, and I checked the FDB cook book, but only found one recipe for oven cooking.

For a beef roast I've used a Korean BBQ recipe that worked pretty well. I don't remember the exact recipe, and also don't know how well it would do with a pork roast. But it's another idea.

boston butt, liquid crab boil (just enough to cover the bottom of the pot), put on high for an hour, and cook on low until bone pulls out (about 4-6 hrs). Trim the fat when done and pour out almost all the juice. Comes out spicy and delicious

Think I am going with this one. Do you season the meat or add anything else in the crock pot with something besides the crab boil? A little spicy kick sounds good. Cooking one this Saturday for LSU and Auburn game at LSU.

Rub with salt and pepper 50/50 mix with a little garlic powder and a little cayenne.

Add a little liquid to the bottom of pot......Worchestershire.....chicken broth.......beef broth or just water. Cook for 8 or 10hr setting on crock pot.

Empty all but a little of the juice and "pull" with two forks..............Enjoy.

ETA: Its really hard to frick up a boston butt

no i just use the crab boil. It comes out perfect, but you can always put the trinity in it if desired. After it comes out you can put some BBQ sauce on it.

Let me know how you like it
