It was ALL Leonard's fault, obviously.

One could argue that Rex liking BBT gives the haters legitimacy.

How could anybody hate The Big Bang Theory?

There have been several discussions on this, but the best one was probably about a month and a half ago. If I have time today, I'll find it and link it to this thread.

I see a bit of prejudice against anything somewhat literate. No wonder "Reservoir Dogs" is such a huge hit here.

The haters claim that it isn't high brow hummor. It's just low brow cloaked in nerd talk.

Of course they are wrong, but that's never stopped people from expressing their opinions.

You'll see why this is bullshite in the linked thread. It's the last time we had this discussion and probably the best one so far.

Just of the record I think it's the funniest and best comedy on TV. Yea, it's got the old style laugh-track but I don't care, the show has an excellent cast and damn good writing. So let the record show that I don't disagree with Rex on everything.

Well.........it kind of is. And I'm not a hater, I just dont get the immense love for the show that some have. Everyone talked it up to be some extremely smart show but it's mostly just common jokes told with big words.

To each his own. There is definitely far worse stuff out there.

Because its ratings success has come at the expense of the M/TV favorite Community. Some people have a hard time accepting that more layers of comedy gold = less mass appeal

I don't think it gets a lot of love here as much as it gets defense from over the top haters. This might be the first thread I can think of that was actually started by someone that liked BBT rather than someone wanting to complain about it.

Only if you ignore the thread I linked a couple posts up from this one.

Seriously? I love both of those shows. My two favorites. I don't see a competition there, I guess, because I only watch them in reruns on Hulu and Plex.

That thread was created so we could get to the bottom of the disparity of love between TBBT and HIMYM.

Granted, I like TBBT, but it wasn't intended to be a praise thread. It just turned into an argument like everything else on here does.

Hulu and Plex.

Watching anything on Hulu whether on computer or console has gotten bloody painful. The navigation for it on my wii is brutal when I am trying to watch Downton...
All that said, what is plex?

It's still the best discussion we've had about the show.

I like BBT also. While I wouldn't put it on Frasier levels of smart comedy, I think it it is above average for the required intellect of the viewers to get all the jokes.

All the BBT fans I know are college educated. The ones who love Duck Dynasty and Swamp People...different story.

Haivng said that, I wouldn't mind if Amy weren't part of it. She's rarely good for anything but a shock joke. I guess the writer's felt all the characters needed a female counterpart. But Sheldon's female was Leonard.

BTW, that episode is hilarious. My favorite one is when Penny gives Sheldon Leonard Nimoy's autographed napkin and Sheldon freaks out.
