I once went to an Asian buffet and didn't get sick.

...demanded my money back because it wasn't the experience that I expected.

You are the Great Gris Gris and you think someone would need to count?

Some things you just know with a glance.

Flemings Sunday night. Daughter ordered filet med rare. Was served a piece of leather. Mgr apologized, comped her replacement filet, and gave her a fancy box of chocolates.

So otherwise they would have charged her for it?
Did they actually say "no charge for the second one" or they just brought it out correctly cooked?

Good question. No they did not. I was getting pissed because I was eating my steak and sharing with her waiting for the replacement. When they brought it I said that's comped. He said yes sir. That's how that went down.

Of course then I had to flag the manager down again just to get the bill because our server never came back to our table.

I notice this problem a lot with new/first-time servers at my work. When training them, we try to drill in their head that we're all human and we DO make mistakes.. but you have to apologize sincerely and do what you can to help and BE PRESENT at the table.

We have had a few shy fresh-out-of-high-school girls that get so upset about messing something up that they never return to the table because they're scared. They don't realize that makes the customer have an even worse experience.

One thing I learned at the casino in my short time there was that when someone is being rude, being overly friendly and prompt can completely turn them around. I've had some trashy/ghetto people turn around and start tipping me $5/drink because I was so overly quick and friendly.

After all that, you gotta tell us which restaurant.

It was in Destin. Called Cafe Italia.

It was in this woman's home and she was Italian (I think?) and made some pretty damned good Italian food. But the server was horrible and the "schtick" is that since the food is fresh, you have to wait a long time on it. I'm down for allowing 30-45 minutes for you to make me a fresh pizza (which is what we ordered). I'm not down for spending 3 hours at dinner when there were no apps, no salads, no alcoholic beverages, and no desserts.

The reviews online have people saying that when they complained, the woman yelled at them.

nikinik

I don't even know where to start. The rude/condescending thing I get bc a waiter should never be that way but the rest of your post doesn't seem worthy of writing up on Yelp.

So you didnt put enough money on your card and didnt read the groupon rules?

He got a free meal out of it too, paid for by groupon, and he's still upset. Think the dude needs to chill.

Niknik is good people around here, so I like to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I was kinda torn on her complaints as well.

The rudeness and the fact that the manager admitted the girl was rude and did nothing about it are legit concerns.

Me personally, when I get that customer that is particular about each item on their plate and breaks it down for me, it's just my luck that it's the customer I'm going to make mistakes with. I never make mistakes with the carefree people

Groupon/Restaurant.com/Etc. are all pretty well-known for sometimes messing up or not being available once you go to use them, so I don't think I'd ever only bring a certain amount without backup money.. or I'd at least never order more than I know I can afford without the coupon.

Popeyes on Highland...Told the employee I wanted my order spicy and to-go..She asked if I wanted my order to-go and if I wanted it spicy.

Checked my bag and told her I was missing a red beans. She apologized and stuck a cajun rice in the bag.

No she didn't. Groupon just gave her a refund on the certificate she bought since the restaurant wouldn't let her use it. So she got her $25 back if it was a $50 gift card.
