That's tough. I'd have to say GoT. Simply because you'll be on board when it fires back up here in a couple weeks

But then again, shite you could be done with the Wire by tomorrow night just watch all of GoT the next night

While I'm envious of everybody who's already caught up, I can't help but think they're jealous of me for not having to wait weeks or even months for the next episode since this is my first viewing of these shows.

Man as bad as I hate to admit it, after doing a handful of whole series marathons, it absolutely sucks to go week to week like normal folks

God forbid wait until next season of something to come back on

Yeah, I just caught up with Walking Dead 2 weeks ago and hate having to wait week by week.

I'm about to finish season 4 of Breaking Bad too and I don't know how I'll make it until July.

Haven't seen Mad Men OP, but Breaking Bad is definitely the best drama I've watched. It took me 3 or 4 episodes to really get in to, so keep watching if it doesn't grab you right away. In my opinion the seasons get better than the previous ones.

Breaking bad is the best action drama show in tv in a very very long time.

Breaking Bad is your favorite show.
Mad Men is a better show.

I love both.

Mad Men is a great show. The writing is phenomenal. The acting is as well. But, it depends on what you're looking for. BB has great acting and writing as well and much more action. DO you want meth or advertising?

Nice. I happened to catch an episode of The Wire in season 5. Somehow that show went right past me and I'm a huge HBO guy.

So within a couple weeks I watched the 4 seasons leading up to 5 and then went live with the show

Also reminds me how much I fricking hate waiting a week

Breaking Bad, best show ever except for maybe The Wire.

Add "The Shield" and I'm right there with you for the top 3.

I do like Mad Men, and I think it's reasonable to rank the show as being "up there" with the big boys. There's just more potential for fun when you mix drugs and cops.

I got through 2 seasons of Mad Men and and has started to fade out for me. Great dialogue and I like the characters but I'm just waiting for something to happen. Maybe I need to just stick with it one more season.

Part of it is the setting - an advertising firm with a bunch of dysfunctional people - that is going to provide less fodder for "something" to happen, although I suspect it will get messy at the end. It watches like The Great Gatsby meets Forest Gump, but set on Madison Avenue.

And the ground they're trying to cover - Roger and older are "Greatest Generation" - Don, Peter, Peggy, etc. are "Silent Generation", and the kids are the boomers - although you see more and more of them as they progress through the 60s. It sort of tells all stories through the contrast of these generations and the changing American landscape - the changing role of women, the expansion of the suburbs and - not very subtlely - the growth of the American consumuer culture.

Mad Men is miserable, shallow people doing miserable, shallow things to one another and then turning around and wondering why they are so miserable. I really do not like the show at all, and feel its success is mainly due to the fact that miserable, shallow people like seeing themselves on the screen and pretending they have more depth than they actually do. No, you are miserable and shallow. Stop it.

Really, there's not one decent person on the show. They are are horrible people and deserve every awful thing which befalls them, which is usually of their own making. I don't see how anyone finds it entertaining or even all that interesting.

Exactly how I feel about Breaking Bad, except that I do find it entertaining. But I hate almost all of the characters and all of the actors (because of the characters). I like Breaking Bad a lot, but I don't find it all that "fun."

Mad Men has more story lines and more likable characters. It is entertaining, but it is more subtle. Breaking Bad is over the top and extremely unique.

It's fun to watch the consequences unfold and the Walter White creative solutions to some.

I've grown to like Hank as a character and it's tough to dislike Junior and Sol (despicable though Sol may be). Part of the show's draw is the conflicting emotions it produces.
