Good read, although I don't think ANYONE will break Da Freak's record, I'm proud he has the aspiration to do so!

Anybody think this is the opposite of ironic?

Tremendous number to shoot for but there's no such thing as a state sacks record. Nothing's ever been documented over the course of time to make such a claim. Johnson may have set those records for this school but there is no actual state record.

I took it as a backhand to Alabama, who told Collins what he wanted to hear to get him signed.

This! And he's basically telling us what Collins feels right now.

Exactly.

I emailed Ted Lewis of the T-P way back when Anthony Johnson was allegedly about to break the sack record & asked if the T-P was gonna cover it, and this was his reply:

"On top of that, there is no such thing as a Louisiana career sacks record, or if someone purports to have one, it's extremely dubious. High school stat keeping, while improved over the years is generally unverifiable. That is why our policy is that we do not recognize school records by high schools and certainly not a state record for something so subjective as stats."
