I just dont see an amphitheater around New Orleans working out with lakefront and New Orleans Arena. Nobody really wants to play just outside of New Orleans.

I think one could work better in Mississippi, maybe around Biloxi looking over the water but it would need to be a ridiculous looking venue to do very well

I've never seen Britney Spears live, but I don't care for her either.

Yeah because she built her reputation through her live shows...

Nice try, TheDork

Your analogy is as relevant as your music.

That's probably because I don't do drugs

Some people don't appreciate live music or talented musicians.

Such a cop out excuse. My brother has never touched a drug in his life and had the time of his life on Phish tour this past summer.

My 50+ year old mom, who hasn't drank in 25+ years (Christian folk), in the last 4 years has seen sts9, Pnuma trio, flying lotus, the album leaf, daedalus, telepath, bass science, nosaj thing, pretty lights, and the beach boys.
Also, she likes Phish and Old Crow Medicine Show.

This thread devolved quickly.

Back to the sugar mill.... Some gems I heard:

"Hey I heard they have raves here - isnt that where people crowd surf?!?!?" - 50 year old women next to me discussing the venue

Then the folks behind me in line, while the band at the entrance was both visible and playing very clearly "sounds like a brass band - those guys must be a brass band"

I hate the Sugar Mill. Bad venue all around, although it worked well for the running of the bulls last year.

I personally love Tips.
