scrambled eggs, potato/bacon/poblano hash, and toasted english muffins.

i used Ramsey's perfect scrambled eggs method, posted earlier in the week. except, i cooked them longer because i don't like runny scrambled eggs. came out good...

I'm going to have to try that method. I'd do it now but I have no creme fraiche.

Had a Quad espresso at Starbucks at 6 am. Just finished late breakfast...1 piece of leftover fried catfish and a bowl of french onion soup.

i thought you always had oatmeal with that cups of Starbucks coffee?

(wonders if it is creepy to remember another man's breakfast habits…)

It's a sad story. About 6 months ago SB went to something called "Steel Cut" oatmeal and raised the price a bit. Stuff does not mix with hot water. You are left with hard oats floating in water totally separated. Gotta wait about 8 minutes to let it steep. By that time your espresso is cold as a witch's tit.

Barrista told me that several oatmeal customers have discontinued ordering.

Made it. Subbed CF for sour creme. It's pretty good but I don't agree with no seasoning until after its done.

You don't agree or you don't understand the reason why? Listen to the reason why. Alton Brown had a great show about eggs and seasoning was after eggs were cooked.

that is a sad story, and a bad move on their part it would seem.

This gives me an idea, Eddie. When I was a DJ in radio my boss always said "For every letter of complaint about our programming there are 100 other listeners who feel the same way but are too lazy to write."

I'm going to email Starbucks and see if it carries the weight of the other 100. Thanks for the inspiration.

I think seasoning eggs after they're cooked results in more even seasoning than mixing it in with beaten eggs regardless of the molecular structure explanations. I've seen pepper gather in clumps in beaten eggs and you get a bite with a bunch of salt and pepper and a bite with not much or none.
