Just bought one yesterday. got home and was checking it out (fire pin indicator) and put a round thru my laundry room wall. Missed my AC unit by inches. I have never been so angry in all my life. Bonehead mistake.....but is does have a sweeeet trigger pull

Did your pistol "discharge" without you pulling the trigger? Did the backstrap safety fail? Trigger Safety Fail? Or did you pull the trigger?

I'm guessing he pulled the trigger.

He's lucky he didn't put a round in his neighbor's ear.

Whistle dick pulled the trigger. Guns don't just spontaneously fire rounds.

Who the frick plays with a loaded gun anyway?

I know you now know this, but I will reiterate for you.

The XDs have a nifty little chamber indicator on the top of the slide. When its up, keep your booger finger off the frickin trigger.

for the safety of all those around you, and even those that aren't, put the gun down and sell it immediately.

I had that same type for a while and never had anywhere near accidental discharge. I think he had to pull the trigger.

Contrary to popular belief, guns don't just "go off" like they do in movies.

This is not an accidental discharge. This was negligent discharge. He did something stupid and it was not the gun's fault.

Please learn your safety rules and practice responsible gun ownership. It's bonehead moves like this one that give all firearm owners a bad name.

So you were checking out the firing pin indicator by sticking a round in there then you pulled the trigger?

I have heard stories of people dropping a round in the pipe for XD/XDm, and when closing the slide the firing pin hit the round.

Buuut I have a feeling dipshit pulled the trigger.

I hope his neighbors keep their heads on a swivel.

Where did you hear that from? I'm pretty confident mine won't go off when I release the slide

I didn't imply that they did...

The gun could have slam fired from dropping the slide. One of the safeties on the gun, there are several, could have failed. In this instance the OP pulled the trigger with the grip safety depressed and disengaged the safety on the trigger...

Boneheaded? Absolutely, but to think that he needs a lecture at this point is kind of like buying the milking pail after you have slaughtered the cow...

His son, who incidentally has fired more rounds than everyone on this board combined, will give him more grief about this than anyone on this board ever will...
