The SEC needs to get the bubble teams to advance tomorrow. Ole Miss, UT, KY, and LSU winning would be amazing!! That boost the conference as a whole and guarantees LSU the NIT with a shot at winning the whole thing.

Theres 9 nit automatic bids already..unless mtsu sneaks in. In that case it still takes a spot away.

Wait they lost today? What the frick? Ugh, thanks Tech. I mean still probably on pace for the same amount as last year since most of the 1 bid league tournaments are over at this point right?

Four more to dodge from an automatic bid standpoint.
Southern, Akron, long beach st and Stephen F Austin.

I think Southern should be fine unless they completely shite the bed... LSU caught a break in the SEC tournament because the winner of the Bama/UT game tomorrow is in the NCAA Tournament imo. If Bama wins it's possible for both to be in which would be awesome.

Montana as well.

I will be "that guy" and suggest that LA Tech might should turn down their NIT bid.....
How in the name of frick do you lose to UTSA...a 3 conference win team...in the first round?

Yes forgot montana..crazier things have happened but utah is halfway to stealing a ncaa bid which would kick someone down to the nit.
If ohio and akron make the mac title game the mac might be a 1 bid nit league regardless.

Will likely lose NW St. in finals.

SFA and NSU should be a fun game to watch. SFA at one point this season had the best opponent scoring average and NSU at one point in the season led the nation in points per game. Should be all about who controls tempo.

But I think it put LSU back on the bubble for the NIT. Prior to today, we were out of it.
Geez, when did it become so difficult to get into the postseason?
I can remember a time when a 19 win LSU basketball team was a virtual lock for the NCAAs, much less the NIT.

When the team we're referring to is the 9th team out of 14 teams in the weakest major conference in the NCAA.

And in those days LSU was in the top 30% in the conference, not in the bottom half.

It would be a plus for the team for more practices and something else to build on for next season

Akron will probably go down. They've been a different team since suspending their drug dealing PG

Because in the 1980's, those 19 win LSU teams were winning 11 or 12 conference games, and over many of their losses would be to teams ranked in the top 25. LSU would be something like 9-5 non conference having played 6 or so top 25 teams. LSU's non-conference schedules the last few years have consisted of maybe 1 top 25 teams, 1 decent team, and 10 super suck teams. Yet, we would still lose 2 or 3 of those games.
