Watching BBall Tournaments in School

got this thread from a UNC board- but in NC a lot of schools semi shut down to watch the ACC and NCAA tournaments.
some teachers are dooshes but a lot of them will just plan to have a small assignment and then turn on the TV to watch the games on the Thursdays and Fridays of the ACC and NCAA
do the people in SEC, B1G, Big East, Pac or Big 12 regions do this?

high school, middle school, elementary school
in college they just cancel class, not gonna make you come in to watch basketball

Colleges cancel all classes on tournament days? That's insane.

I was part of a group that included Dale Murphy that watched games in the field house at WM. Ordered pizza and everything. Until Shows walked in...he was pissed...

I never heard of any middle or high school doing that in Memphis or Richmond.

Oh yeah, in North Carolina back when the ACC Tournament was a bigger deal, they'd roll those old arse TV's into the classroom and we'd watch all day. Good times.

No, there arent really any classes that overlap with any games, but if they did professors who would show the games in class would instead just cancel their classes instead of having us come in
