Schalke's sporting director Horst Heldt has confirmed that a group of ticketless Galatasaray fans were caught trying to burrow into their stadium using their bare hands ahead of Tuesday's Champions League match.

With the away section heavily oversubscribed and tickets trading hands at prices of up to €1,000 before kick-off, the group resorted to desperate measures, trying to dig through frozen ground under a perimeter fence.

Heldt confirmed the incident before the game, which ended with a 4-3 aggregate victory for the Turkish club, saying: "Yes, that's right. Some supporters have tried to dig a tunnel with their bare hands."

Aren't there a ton of Turks in Germany? I figured most were actually people living in Germany.

Yeah shite loads. A lot of the gala fans yesterday were probably German Turks, but I'm sure some made the trek from Istanbul

I noticed when they would pan the stadium, you could see small groupings of fat brown people in orange gear. Then of course the 70 year old schalke fan that the camera showed 6 or 7 times. Also I've never seen a young person at a schalke game.

Did anybody else see that guy smoking in the middle of the game? Is that just accepted in European stadiums, or was he breaking the rules?

Also, I doubt he gave a frick about the rules. They started lighting off fireworks and shite after the game. Rules are for queers.

It's typically pretty difficult to separate the Germans from their cigs. They will hold them until they reach the proper trash receptacle, but definitely always smoking.

I can respect that. I hate when people act like cigs will just disappear when they throw them on the ground.

I hate time change too, but I really fricking hate school. Gotta DVR it and hang out in the library all day. Test tomorrow and a bunch next week but if arsenal didn't concede defeat I would be watching live
