in online. Fast expand to mutas is crazy good. The only really effective counter is thors.

God I miss Starcraft! I haven't played 2 yet, can't seem to find the time when the wife "will let me".

All about build order mastery. I was a Marines/Marauders player in WoL.
Zerg rush works, but its an all or nothing tactic and timing is critical. Seconds too late and your opponent has time to get enough units to repel the rush, you're done.
Most of the Bronze league 1v1 games are all about build order. Every once in a while in 4v4 my group of buddies would find players willing to really get into some of the tech tree. But I rarely had time to get Medivacs before the game was over.

4v4 is all about the tech tree. If you can fend off and early rush and you have teammates willing to help with that, you can dominate easily if everyone techs up to mid/top tier.

See I like to get all of my tech before really going out. That's why I don't really enjoy online or these timed missions.

I used to be that way and then i started getting into the ladders and stuff. The game is so finely tuned that tier 1 units are better than tier 3 units sometimes. Its all balance. Thats why I like it. Everything has a counter and its just about being better with your counters.

I guess if I had more time to toy with it then I would change my game play.
