I've been reluctant to watch Lost for the longest time because of some bad things I heard from friends but I'm glad I finally gave it a shot.

Some people were confused by the ending, and its not a show for everyone, but it may be the most addicting show of all time.

It had an incredible cast. Coming in, I only knew of Matthew Fox from Party of Five and Dominic from LOTR but I ended up being a huge fan of Adewele, Evangelline, Henry Cusisk, Emerson, etc.

Changed the title. Hopefully people will see that and keep it down. I will try and frequent this thread as I watch new episodes. The only people I don't like so far are the brother/sister.

Every now and then I get aggravated with Michael and Walt. His son is obviously wants to get to know his father but he doesn't notice.

You don't have to update the thread. We've all seen it. Come back when you're done the series and we can talk thoughts.

I'd like to see his reactions to certain parts of the series.

I was gonna say the same thing. I'm currently doing a rewatch right now, and debated bringing the idea to the board of doing a VERY heavily scaled down version of the espisode threads we used to have on here when it was live (man those were fun). Not for every episode, obviously, but maybe a thread for each season.

Seems like with someone watching the show for the first time, it'd be cool to have that interaction and discussion with others that we all enjoyed having in real time. Although I'm not sure how well it would work since everyone else has seen it and knows the answers while he's the only one that doesn't. I do think it'd be cool to get his take on certain scenes, episodes, whatever as he watches.

My forever favorite show!
You will love it for the character, the writing, the music, the scenery. It has everything you could ever want in a tv show. I have never had such an emotional attachment to a tv show like that before. I wish I could watch again with virgin eyes.
Have fun and let us know how you react along the way.

I'm down for this. I just finished episode 12 last night. Kate's back story keeps getting better. A little unbelievable but nonetheless intriguing. I'm anxious to see how Jack utilizes what he got out of the case.

Sweet, you're halfway through season 1. I knew after episode 4 Walkabout that I was hooked for the long haul. The season finale of 1 left my mouth open. I couldn't get to the store fast enough to pick up season 2 and start watching.

I've never gotten this line of thinking. I feel like the people who watched it live and live and died with every scene got WAY too caught up in tiny, minute, trivial little details that don't matter one iota. Some people want every..single..thing to have some explanation or backstory, that simply isn't feasible. I think all the BIG questions did get answered for the most part. They may not have been answered to everyone's liking, or even in a way that made sense, but I think most questions were answered that actually needed to answered. And before you ask "well then how do you explain THIS!?", I don't remember near enough about the show as I used to and would defer to OML who does, and also this is a thread for a new watcher so we don't need spoilers here.

I think I can say this without it being a spoiler.

I think the debate and criticism of Lost usually fall in line with one of the main themes of the show. Are you a man of science or are you a man of faith? I saw Lost an enlightenment journey. The details were not as important as the big picture. I think most things said by the creators support that as well.

for sure. I think I mentioned it earlier but the later seasons require a massive suspension of disbelief. But like I've tried to hammer home, at the end of the day it's just a form of entertainment, nothing more. Let it entertain you.

Yeah and that's the way I see most shows and movies. Story is great and all but if there are plot holes here and there or a little bit of the unbelievable I'm fine with it.

Damn, you guys are making me want to forget about everything currently on TV and just watch this every night.

I can't think of one reason why you shouldn't do this. Especially as you finish season 1 and get into season 2, LOST will be all you want to do with your life.
